It would have made sense, I mean she couldn't possibly still be talkin' with the Grand Cleric. What's her excuse gonna be this time? I hope they'll at least give us another Epilogue mentioning her.dragonsony09 wrote...

Don't know if anyone has posted it already. Dog is a companion, its official. Of course, it doesn't say anything about it being the Warden's dog from Origins. I'm just gonna assume he didn't get a new one, which is very identical to the one from Origins.

It could be though that the writers have conveniently forgotten what they themselves penned in the rush to push out DA 2 and will summarily dismiss the warden in this DLC. In which case that would amount to a betrayal of sorts, both to players and also of their own work..
However, I trust the writers are not that kind of person, that they clearly knew what they meant when using those specific words in the epilogue and therefore they are sitting back watching what is unfolding in this post, somewhat amused at those here who seem to have missed that key information and are instead baying for the warden's death NOW..
I await to see if my trust in them as consistent writers is justified.
Ha ha I imagine that the writers are very amused by many things in this thread.

The thing about Epilogues is that they could change as you make decisions in the future, but they are always true at the moment of them being shown. Which means if they say for example: Morrigan was rumored several years later to be spotted so and so, but that doesn't make sense because she is confronted by the Warden in Witch Hunt only a year later... Well, if you don't choose to go on Witch Hunt, then that Epilogue does come to pass... If you do choose to go on Witch Hunt, you decided to change what would happen in the future.
She is only rumored to be seen several years later at court in Orlais.

It seems as if the DLC will involve travelling and utilizing the mirrors that began their quest and trials, and took away from them their life before the Warden's and their best friend. Nice way to end the tale as it began for us Dalish.

No, and I am a writer thank you very much. And to be honest with you, if you plan out an entire book before hand, and never make a change to it, then THAT is being a bad writer, being able to adapt and change as the story goes on is what made some of the best books out there, planning ahead is good, to an extent. Them changing a few things in the text after a game ends, really wouldn't bother me. If they changed something like....The game itself, that would be moreso a problem.
And I never stated it HAS to be this way, he HAS to die! But for you to say he 'can't' die because of the text at the end of the game..../Sigh at that. If you look back at all the time's responded to you, I never once said, "The Warden HAS to die! It's his time! He MUST DIE!!!!!" No, lol I'll be fine and well if the Warden lives, but for everyone saying it'd be the worst thing ever, and it's not fair, yada yada....I just have to laugh a little. Sure I'll actually be very upset for a while if my Warden indeed does die, but in a different way. I won't curse Bioware for daring to ever put our Warden's in such a position. They usually do well with their storylines so untill they give me reason to believe they are ruining their(Keyword THEIR) Game World, then I'm not going to scream bloody murder at them about how they do everything wrong, and how Hawke will be terrible compared to the Warden.
With respect, its also a game which players have parted with their money to enjoy. So to have the writers effectively rubbish and retcon nearly 50% of the available epilogue endings on a whim, ( despite players feeling that those epilogues, minimal though they were, gave their characters existence post Origins some meaning and a sense of direction that was not finalised 'in game' ) would actually be a bit disrespectful. ( Since hey, we the players are in part paying the writers wages )
Also, I disagree that the best books etc are those written with no solid plan. Often the worst books end up like that. TV shows too (LOST being a prime example of a show obviously lacking a plan, BSG seemingly fell into that too, despite the phrase "and they have a plan" in every opening title.)
So thats why many consider Lost one of the best shows of all time, and it was being hyped throughout it's entire existance? =P Because it was 'bad'? As I said, Having somewhat of an idea for your plot, is a must have, but not being able to adapt, add new things/change things for the better, and fix other things. Yeah, that makes you a terrible writer in the long run.

If that's Dog, I still think it's Dog v2.0 and not "my Dog". I also wonder what will be done to add some sensible new skills and abilities (even if it *is* "my Dog v1.0") since a level 24 Dog was pretty well maxed out on skills and my level 35 Warden would like a severely OP Dog as well, TYVM.
why would they add a mabari and NOT have it be you mabari that makes 0 sense whatsoever - I mean the developers said one of the reason that dog wasn't in awakenings was that his animations aren't cheap or some such thing - so if they decided to put him in what would possibly be gained by not making him your mabari - not to mention that in the description of dog on the witch hunt page they reiterate that Mabari bond with their masters for life - again not having it be your dog would be foolish

I'd chuckle if it was a different Dog because Dog's original VO had died so they had to get a new one in.

Of course if you're dog is in Witch Hunt, one has to wonder why it wasn't in Awakening.

that is true but lets face it they put dog in this one because it is the warden's last adventure and dog is the companion most loyal to the warden so it is fitting they get on last adventure together...

Without reading through 71 pages why is this our wardens last journey again?
Probably because BW wants to focus on DA2 from now on.

I expect the the Shadow Broker Mass Effect/2 DLC to be far superior since BioWare has been giving Mass Effect/2 so much attention.
I have loved DA:O even more than the Mass Effect series and it's kind of sad IMO to watch what has been turned out for as DLC for it. Then the Mass Effect slant for DA/2 and could we honestly expect anything special as a send of for DA:O? IMO BioWare appears to just want to wash it's hands of DA:O so it can focus on Shepardizing DA/2.

Hmmm... I just wonder whats they will do wit the Ultimate sacrifice?
Play as an Orlesian Warden (either the new warden, or import one you played with in Awakening or Golems) and you'll probably find out how they handle that. Just a best guess there.
