Great so now I gotta play Origins again, before Witch Hunt comes out...Which I won't be able to do! >:(

I feel your pain, brother, I redid Redcliffe and Denerim siege, as mentioned in my latest post, in order to prevent Morrigan from breaking up with me. Sure it's only merely the final chapter, but no one understands the way I play the game. Ask Kaedah if you ever find him on the forums; he will tell you how religiously he and I play the game.

Hang on a second.

You might not need to play Origins again just to avoid Morrigan's approval dropping to "frendly". There are 2 triggers or "Flags" in our character's save-game information regarding the romance with Morrigan.

One is the actual approval flag, which changes if you talk to her at the end.

HOWEVER, once that happens another flag activates by the name of "Morrigan_still_in_love" or something like that.

So, since David said the romance flags wont be the same as Awakening we can assume they'll go for the other one which is active when you get the ring epilogue. There may be no need to replay the game.

A great deal of effort went into figuring out what kind of relationship the warden had with Morrigan so that Witch Hunt can react to it. It is not using the same scripting logic as Awakening, and won't have the same bugs.

That said, it's a complicated relationship. In some cases there isn't any direct way to track exactly what happened, and we have to rely on proxy information to make a good guess. As such, I can't guarantee that there won't be any bugs, but efforts were made and hopefuly any issues will be minor.

Thats good to hear that it won't have the Awakening type bug. I know Fernando mentioned Witch Hunt would properly read the romance active and still in love flags, but would there be a problem if BOTH of those flags are activated like, if we had done so through the console to get the right Awakening epilogue?

I know you guys don't do much with looking at mods, but I know many people use Terra_Ex's Morrigan Dialogue restoration mod and while I think it should be ok, I'm just wondering if any of those changes he documented in the change log might mess up the "version" of Morrigan we see in Witch Hunt?

Right...But I don't want to play Witch Hunt my first time, and Morrigan doesnt respond to the romance. Posted Image

Are you sure...about this golden mirror at the end? give it to her back at camp after Origins?

Right- Fernando posted in a different thread that I linked to a page or so ago, that said the romance active and still in love flags should be good enough to get the "romanced" version of Morrigan in Witch Hunt. So you shouldn't need to reaply anything in that case as the "still_in_love" flag is the one that gives you Morrigan's "sorrow and regret" epilogue in Origins while the "romance active" one is needed to be active for the Awakening epilogue.

If I'm understanding what Fernando posted either of those flags being active should be sufficient to get the "romanced" versio of Morrigan in Witch Hunt- unless they're looking at other flags too.

Im positive about the mirror.

And again, you really dont need to replay the whole thing, Witch Hunt uses another romance flag than the approval one. The only reason to replay is if you want to get the morrigan epilogue in Awakening.

Edit: Brockololly beat me to it

Yes, but wouldnt it  have a different dialog in Witch Hunt, if you where still in love with Morrigan at the end?

I dont think so, no. Because you can import a character from Origins without playing Awakening it is safe to assume Awakening epilogue won't have much of an impact.

The only thing that matters is if the game knows Morrigan is a love interest. From earlier posts looks like this happens regardless of the expansion's epilogue.

If you really want to hear about how the Warden looks for Morrigan at the end of DA:A, replay. If you're worried only about the DLC, then there is no need.

Thank god for that, I just hope this game knows that I romanced Morrigan.

So it seems like the romance flags matter, but so do some of the other Morrigan plot related ones.

So, the primary flags regarding Morrigan's status in WH might be some of the other plot related flags,  like whether you gave her Flemeth's grimoires or if she gave you the ring too. Not sure if the Golden Mirror has a unique plot flag attached to it or if that just affects the approval which I don't think can be imported over, as I remember that being a question with Oghren before Awakening came out (whether his numerical approval would import over).

But why release it AFTER the long weekend?

Darn, many of us have a three day weekend, but no WH to play ... yet.

Correct. I am almost 100% sure that the grimoire and Flemeth quest will have some sort of impact.  As for the approval, I think it is a matter of status (frendly/neutral/love,etc) rather than an actual numerical value.

I'm almost 100% sure that 1.04 Patch will be required to play Witch Hunt. If Bioware is consistent with the patch/dlc... which they have been.

So is it possible for you guys to confirm if the Dog is OUR Dog or not?

It is, and it isn't. Due to technical limitations, we were unable to import the actual dog creature. There is a popup to name dog, and dog's equipment and stats are generic, much like Oghren in Awakening. You can use a respec tome and customize him however you want.

From a story perspective, if you recruited dog, this is your dog. If you didn't, this is a different dog you picked up sometime later. There's a codex entry for each version respectively.

Wait, so this is the last DLC? So much for the promised 2 years of DLC for origins.

So it's not mentioned in the DLC dialogue specifically if it is your dog?

im gunna take a guess that your warden has to die in this DLC, since you dont reappear in DA 2, it would finish the origins story nicely.

anyone think this is getting VERY Beowulf-like???

I doesnt necessary have to die. Though I can assure you you wont see him/her again. Having moved to voiced PCs, Bioware cant move backwards from now on... Thats the way it is.

Which I find dissapointing, I wouldn't mind having another adventure as my warden.  But then again he can't exactly get anymore legendary than he already is.

Ah, so that must be what Fernando Melo meant when he said there was "a kinda returning character". Oh well, I can live with that, I guess. It sucks, but I can live with it. I mean if there's an appropriate codex entry all i have to do is type the same name in.

Final quest, means bioware is giving up on DAO and focusing on DA2. Bye Bye attention and updates for DA0.

Yeah right, how dare they drop support for an almost year-old game. It has never been done before. The nerve of these people, I bought the game thinking they would be providing infinite updates!

I hate to be cynical, but I suppose this means we can no longer believe a word BW says.

You just learned that now!?

For ME1, they said that there'll there'll be a customizable MAKO, an interrupt system, destructible environment, that you could leave your armor covered with blood, that each world will be big as Morrowind and long as a KOTOR world and that you could change the appearance of your weapons and that you can play as a squad mate like in KOTOR etc
