I may be expecting to much but I expect way more then just a couple lines from Morrigan and then she runs off again... that would be the biggest mistake Bioware has made with Dragon Age.
If the Gamespot "preview" is anything to go by, prepare to be massively disappointed.

If you don't want Witch Hunt spoiled, don't read Gamespot's preview. It pretty much spoils the whole thing. And damn does it sound disappointing.....

Just know that if you're expecting meaningful answers beyond what we got in the Dark Ritual conversation it sure as hell seems we aren't getting them in WH. I'm just hoping this is another case of Gamespot not knowing what they're doing and maybe they didn't see the full ending.
I mean what hands on preview lets you play the conclusion and why did BioWare let them leak out the whole damn plot?

The IGN preview seems quite the opposite of the Gamespot one. Of course, the IGN writers frequently talk out of their asses, as well.
I'll withhold judgement until it comes out. I suspect it'll be a huge case of "your mileage may vary".

Seriously though, don't read that preview if you don't want the whole thing spoiled.

I will hold complete judgement tell after I buy and play it, but if it's what it sounds like. There will be hell to pay!

Seriously, if thats how it plays out, I'll lose a MASSIVE amount of faith in BioWare. Not even as game makers, but as decent story tellers. Maybe they have more planned, but it wouldn't be until after DA2...

Yes, Witch Hunt is the final DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, and imo a great send off to an awesome game.
What happened to "2 years..."? Dragon Age 2.
Really... Really...? A great send off to an awesome game...
no no, I'll wait to play it myself, but let me say if I like it, ign and gamespot are horrible at revewing...

Key Features:
* Confront Morrigan in this dramatic conclusion to the Origins storyline"
If you fulfill that Bioware, everything should be fine. Otherwise, that would be a lie I think. Because my assumption going into Witch Hunt is that the last loose end will be tied..."once and for all"...

I'm hoping against hope there is more to Witch Hunt than that Gamespot preview let on, otherwise I'll be massively disappointed.

Seeing as it seems DA2 has nothing to do with Morrigan or the Warden, my hope lies with DA3 or beyond. But it seems they're just milking Morrigan's story for all its worth so us poor saps keep buying it up, only to keep getting zero meaningful answers.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I haven't read anything so far to indicate that it'll be bad, we just might not get all the answers we're hoping for.

But it doesn't seem we'll be getting that sort of closure...

My impression from the preview is that its simply going to be just like the Dark Ritual conversation with Morrigan simply evading answers.

Seconded. If the preview is accurate, I really don't see why they bothered to make this, much less how they can justify it as the "dramatic conclusion to the origins storyline". It seems to me that both US and OGB players want the OGB storyline wrapped up. Why can't they just do that and move on to Hawke?
Although I do take comfort in one thing gamepot mentioned. Apparently "how you end the meeting is up to you". Does that mean we can just kill her and end this perpetual loose end once and for all?

Well, they are moving on to Hawke. Just because Morrigan is still integral to Thedas (in every sense of the word), it does not mean that her storyline will encompass any of the baggage from the previous games.

Really, anyone who thought Bioware would wrap up Morrigan's story (as well as that of her potential child) with a simple piece of DLC was thinking... unrealistically. Still, though, was it too much to hope for more than a couple of cryptic 'not-really-answers'?

They didn't really spoil anything. They only really told us what morrigan doesn't say.

I'm still reluctant to believe that their preview was entirely accurate.
Partially because I have no respect for Gamespot.
Partially because IGN has a positive preview and I have no idea which one I should believe.
And partially because I'm in denial.
Don't do it!DanteCousland wrote...
