Its not just that Bioware changed the main character in DA2, its the fact that, they have changed so much about the god damn game I loved to begin with!boltonsquanderer wrote...

I wanted a full sequel, with Morrigan. Instead we got "Hawke"
F*ck Hawke I dont give a sh*t about him, the only reason I might still buy DA2 is because of Flemeth!
I hope we get a DA3 if DA2 flops, and that BioWare go back to what matters, story and characters.
And what makes you think DA2 won't meet that set of criteria?
I'm looking forward to DA2 and bonding with my Hawke in the same way that I've bonded with my warden.
I don't care anymore about DA2, Witch hunt will be my DA2. even though its like 1 hour long, still I'm more excited for witch hunt than DA2. Which is really disapointing.

If you do the math, the DLC is actually quite a bit more expensive than the Awakening expansion in terms of costs / gameplay. for 25 euros DLC you get around 10 hrs of gameplay, whereas Awakening gave you 15 hrs, same price.boltonsquanderer wrote...
Awakening as a full expansion cost a lot more but that was respected in length and quality. The DLC cost peanuts to buy so I never expected the same in terms of quality and content, £5 or $7 gives you what you pay for.
That puts all the DLC together as a group, my point was based on them as stand alone entities - which is, I believe, what Bioware always intended them to be.

Stop posting spoilers you evil people! LALALALALA!
Tell that to Gamespot- even with the spoiler warning on the preview it absolutely boggles my mind how BioWare would let that writer spoil the whole DLC in a preview in which the big catch is uncovering Morrigan's secrets. Unless there is alot more missing from that preview, I'm really dumbfounded as to why BioWare would let Gamespot spoil the whole DLC days before release.
I don't wanna know! just tell me if its good or bad.

True, but if you also take into account that most of the DLC's recycled 95% of the environments and Awakening had quite a few new environments then the costs to develop Awakening had to be way higher as well, so even if adding all the DLC's together the development costs of them all put together most likely doesn't come close to the development costs of Awakening.boltonsquanderer wrote...

we don't know exactly what happens, I don't think. you get a hint that there is more then what the previews talk about, sense they are only previews. i hope there is more. if there is not more, then yes it is bad. or at least it sounds bad.
Its like DA2 being annouced all over again!
I swear see if this DLC is a complete kick in the nuts...I have lost all faith in Bioware, the god baby, Varric's chest hair and ponytail.

I disagree.
It would appear that my warden's story may end with the next DLC but for me I'll happily move on with DA2, build a new Hawke character; a character who inhabits the same DA universe, has a tangential relationship through his origin in Lothering with DA:O but is a completely seperate entity in his own right.
I did one playthrough on DA:O as the dog, the warden effectively being relegated to an NPC. The warden and its relationships are not the be all and end all of the DA universe

Think about what you've written - was your intent to agree with me or disagree?
It looks like you've provided a supporting argument for my point of view.
Thank you

I would be fine with a new character in DA2, but they have to close up the open ends regarding my warden first.boltonsquanderer wrote...

If the WH DLC still doesn't provide true closure for Morrigan and the warden, then the warden is far from done imho.

The Gamespot "preview" seemingly spoils most of the DLC, including the ending.
Going from the "preview" if you enjoyed the lack of closure and annoying lack of answers in the Dark RItual scene, it would seem you may enjoy Witch Hunt:(

Quite the opposite in fact... I've stated that Awakening was more expensive to make than all DLC's together, yet costs less than all DLC's put together, henceforth DLC's in their current form/quality can be considered overpriced even if you just look at them as seperate entities.boltonsquanderer wrote...

Therefore their low price is no excuse for low quality.

Which makes perfect sense if your warden has a relationship with Morrigan to close. For the millions of DA:O players who didn't follow that as a game option the DLC is just an opportunity to take our warden and their faithful dog for a trip out so see what happened to a minor NPC.

Since its an official choice in the game, it can be considered that everyone has the option to take this path as an alternative and therefore Bioware should close this opening before moving on to another character... We'll see if this happens in WH or not, but from the information coming in from previews this is doubtfull...boltonsquanderer wrote...

I see your point, but for many including me, this DLC isn't about Morrigan but about being able to give our wardens a last hurrah before we close the book and move onto DA2.

I can understand that, but the way this DLC was introduced they basically gave the players who romanced Morrigan (and even all of those who took the DR path), some promises regarding closure and answers. I can understand the answers being a problem, since they apparantly intend to make her a rather big character in DA3, but the romance closure should be simple to do... Again until I actually play through WH I can't say they will or won't but the bits of information that have reached me so far don't provide much hope in that regard.boltonsquanderer wrote...

If they had just wanted to give the Warden a nice sent off, some nice adventure with some of the prominent characters might have been a better option for that, or they would have had to present Witch Hunt differently.

I'm sensing anger from you "OriginsisBest".
I'm skipping DA2...I can't support this game when they don't even finish the first god damn story to begin with.
Still buying witch hunt though, have to see this with my own eyes.

That I can fully agree with, it has been badged as the resolution to the Morrigan romance/DR storyline, so for those who followed that, the reviews and spoilers indicate a less than satisfactory conclusion; those people, and I suspect that includes you, have my sympathies.
My emotionally cold, arcane warrior alienage elf who despises all other races will take his beloved and faithful dog and do his level best to kill (unlikely) the callous **** who deserted the cause on the eve of the final battle.

BioWare has this sh*t so messed up right now. The world of "Thedas" is not as important as the story and characters, guess they gotta learn that the hard way.
