Right, so everybody is hoping that the warden returns in DA3 along with Morrigan?

Oh I'm sure Bioware isn't finished with her. She most definitely will be in DA3 with her child. But the emotional closure with our Warden is not likely to happen. The Warden at the time of DA3 will be very old (don't they die at 50?) or dead, and Morrigan will likely not have aged (spells and stuff). The lack closure will a wound in our gamers and Morrifans' hearts. You'll see.

They dangle Morrigan's story in front of us and expect us to buy it. Morrigan and the child would be nice to see in the future, but this Hawke guy? huh I'm not interested. Dragon age for me, dies after Witch hunt.Posted Image

Dragon Age is a saga. A huge tale. I'm sure it'll all come together  but again... no emotional closure with our first playing experience as the Warden. Either way, whether there is closure or not, whether they can justify it or not,  it'll be years of agony and frustration for Morrifans.

Oh well... I hope my Shepard can at least keep his Miranda.

Bioware can shove Hawke where the sun don't shine, I have no Faith in Bioware.

You can't expect people to ditch characters everytime they create a new Dragon age hero.

Mass Effect fans get to keep Shepard! while Dragon age fans have to switch to some Hawke guy and god knows who comes after that.

Dragon age is about the world, but god characters are more important.

Think how ME would be if main character changed each game. Remember the first teaser (brilliant in retrospect)? At least DA2 seems to take the main tale and characters away from the Blight theme of Origins and the DS developments in Awakenings, so it is less jarring. It also means that after stopping a world level god level threat, religious wars are of little interest. As Duncan said time and again, a Blight can **** the whole world and it takes decades to recover. DA2 is better than caravan guard but I´m not interested.
But when it comes back to the DS issues, then what? A new GW? Hawke? I´ll believe this wasn´t marketing and voicing the PC when we get a new PC in DA3.

I read the Gamespot review and am, frankly, very surprised. Usually Gamespot gives their advertising sponsors (heh, EA) much better reviews than they deserve. When I read something like that, I have second thoughts about purchasing the DLC. They seriously spoiled it, and did not rave about it at ALL, which sounds like they're very disappointed with the way BW decided to wrap it up. Or maybe I'm reading too much into that.

There´s a bit more info in the Morrigan thread. It seems Gamespot wasn´t shown all the possible endings. Nor were they expected to spoil what they saw.

Yeah, I'll quote what Master Shiori wrote in the Morrigan thread as it *might* restore some hope?

Master Shiori wrote...

Since the Gamespot article really rilled me up I dropped a line to MIke Laidlaw to express all our concerns with it:

Master Shiori wrote...

Mike.

I really liked the interview you gave to Victor Watcher about how  Morrigan fans are going to be happy with what Witch Hunt has in store  for them, but after reading the preview at Gamespot I have a feeling  we're in for Dark Ritual 2.0.

I have faith that you and other folks at Bioware won't give us that same treatment once again, but from  what was written it sounds more like we'll be walking away with a mother of all frustrations rather then a big smile...

Right now me and other Morrigan fans who romanced her are fervently praying that the article is wrong.

Shiori

Here's what Mike had to say on the subject:

Mike Laidlaw said...

Thankfully, we don't ever show all the possible endings to the press, so worry not.

I would have thought Gamespot would be professional enough to not lay out three paragraphs of spoiler, but apparently I was incorrect. As an ex-journalist myself, I am not pleased.

Not sure about you gys and gals, but it puts my mind at ease to know that maybe things won't be so doom and gloom.

Sounds unlikely doesnt it? Posted Image I actually wonder how much Morrigan time we get in this DLC, maybe we will only see her at the end, and she talks for like 2minutes....then *POOF* shes gone. Posted Image

I hope I'm wrong. But the only reason a journalist WOULD put out a review like that is to let people know, "It's not worth it." Not once does he say anything good about it; that is the most telling part of it.

Well, OriginsIsBest, I won't mind if she only speaks for 2 minutes. I just want to have closure and not waste my own money on the ending that we got from the first game!

That surely wouldn't be a first.

Read the PM Shiori got from Laidlaw about Gamespot not seeing all possible endings. Maybe thats the truth and we'll be pleasantly surprised, or maybe its just damage control.

My hope is slightly restored, but we'll see what the future hold on Tuesday.

But with most sites like Gamespot and IGN, I really don't trust them at all. They routinely get facts wrong and post erroneous info. So I'll take what they say with a massive grain of salt. Althought, yes, that preview doesn't exactly inspire hope in me- its seems we'll get very few answers to Morrigan questions at the very least.

I don't trust sites like that because EA gives them so much money in advertising, and if you want to keep getting stuff to preview, you have to be a bit careful as if you routinely say a preview isn't good, you'll quit getting previews.  So the negative reviews, when they're THAT negative, make me nervous.

I'll probably buy this DLC anyway -- I have the points.  But gah, I hope that this reviewer just was having a bad day or something.

I got a little bit of hope back, but Didnt Gamespot do the romance ending though? They didnt seem to say anything hopeful. Posted Image

Yeah, I've got the points already and hopefully what Laidlaw said was true about Gamespot not seeing the whole thing. It would just be so incredibly weak if the only possible ending was Morrigan running off yet again. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst, right?:wizard:

Well, let's hope Gamespot is wrong and there is a way the Warden and Morrigan can somehow get together. But why would they lie? What do they gain in lying? They're spoiling it, almost to warn us about the disappointment coming up ahead. The Origins conclusion deserved an expansion, not a frustrating DLC, as Gamespot make it sounds to be.

Its Gamespot- I don't think they're knowingly lying, they're just inept and not bothering to get theri facts straight regarding the possible endings. Or at least thats what I hope.

Hrrm. I may have to finish a second game so I have a non-dead Warden to say hello to her. "I should have killed you when I had the chance". My first warden wishes she could come back from the grave to kill her, mind you, but alas, that's not possible. Pity I can't play Zevran as my main, so he could kill her for his dead love.

That said, the game closest to the end, my warden actually tolerates Morrigan.

Good writing on Morrigan. I can think of few game characters I've come to despise more and yet the one time I romanced her she was amusingly sweet in her own messed up way.
