It was revealed by mistake, I believe, Gaider wanted it a full surprise - they all go on about "you won't be disappointed"...
Where was it revealed? Just in the ustream chat? Ugh....Gaider's writer borne cruelty knows no bounds. This is the guy that gives Viconia a happy ending only to unceremoniously kill her off in the epilogue.
I hope they're just screwing with us, cause if WItch Hunt's ending is like what Gamespot said or worse, I'll have had it. Seriously.

I'd also like to note that I spent about 30 minutes looking for the Gamespot review, before I realized I was typing in Gamestop. *sigh* I ended up not reading it anyways, because spoiling it would just end up ruining my day. Hope Mr.Gaider decides to be nice and give us a somewhat happy ending. Fingers crossed- I know you won't dissapoint me Bioware!

Cry me a friggen river. Did I get to keep my hero from Daggerfall? Or Morrowind? Or Oblivion? Or Fallout? Or Fallout 2?
The reality is that most games are like this, and you can't bash a company just because you're overattatched to a character.
Not that I dont agree with your post in some part but Morrowind and Obivion's characters where forgetable in the most extreme meaning of the word.
At least the warden has traces of normal human (err..elfish,dwarfish) personality.
Another thing to add to this whole point:
Bethesda relies on a closed, heavily restricted and linear plot line for each of their Elder Scrolls games, despite being an RPG series. The ONE time they attempted multiple plot paths and endings was Daggerfall, and realizing they dug themselves into a hole with the diverging paths when creating Morrowind, they just slapped on an interdementional time-rift that they famously call "The Warp In The West," where everything happened and yet didn't happen. It is because of this linear plotline that it really doesn't matter to the Elder Scrolls that we play different characters each time.
Another thing, Bethesda has not relied on imports between sequels. In face barely any game company does. The first time I ever saw an import ability was in the game franchise "The Suffering." You could import decisions and actions made in the first game to "The Suffering: Ties That Bind" and have characters react to you based on what choices you made.
Nowadays, Bioware has started with imports in their games. Starting with Mass Effect 2, we no longer have to worry about canon as much and our characters as a result have a much more lasting, meaningful impact in the game series than we could have hoped for 5 or 10 years ago.
Because of this, people now EXPECT Bioware to have a longer-lasting legacy for our characters than in previous games. And when Bioware fails to do that (as we have seen with the Awakening incorrect importing for dead wardens and what we fear of "Witch Hunt"), then I hope you understand, finnugold, why most of us feel our new expectations, based on newly used and proven advances in technology with importing, have not been met.

It goes waaaay beyond that. People think ME2 was the first import save game for BioWare. Thats not right at all. BG2 and Throne of Bhaal allowed you to import your characters and save game well before ME2. Now with BG1 to BG2 they basically canonized certain choices, but from BG2 to Throne of Bhaal, they kept the same party and picked up right where BG2 left off with love interests and all.
Again, my hope that the Warden might have returned for one more sequel was in the fact that DA was supposed to be the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate, which retained continuity of characters between the games. And the fact that the DR is a fantastic choice and consequence type event that just begs for a sequel in which the Warden dealswith those consequences. Sadly, it seems DA is taking a more Neverwinter Nights approach to continuity where every game is a new story with new PC and limited continuity.PureMethodActor wrote...

My apologies. I was a KOTOR upstart, so I never played the Baldurs Gate games or Neverwinter Nights, so I had no idea they had this feature before. I remember playing Neverwinter Nights II one day at my cousins' place, but yeah, that was Obsidian, right? So doesn't count for my point.
I figure I would have played those games when I first heard of them had other games of interest to me not periodically come out.

I sure hope that Laidlaw is right and we don't just end up paying $7 to BioWare for another kick in the balls ending with Morrigan.

Its possible, I think that Flemeth and Maric from the Stolen Throne could have given rise to Morrigan. The timeline is about right I think that The Stolen Throne was about 30 years prior to Origins. So, yeah....

Maybe it was one of Flemeth's daughters that bore Morrigan, and Maric was the father? Flemeth maybe possessed her daughter after she gave birth.Brockololly wrote...

I thought Flemeth's plan was to get Morrigan to conceive a child, then take over her body. Except this child happens to be an old god!

Amen to that. Fingers crossed. But based on the Gamespot description of the conclusion, it seems pretty clear to me what's going to happen again. We'll find out soon enough.

The whole problem with the theory that Flemeth wants to possess the Old God Baby is that I always thought the soul is what made the OGB special. So I always thought Flemeth's body snatching would negate the soul- unless she can somehow absorb the should of the person she is snatching.
See this is what annoys me, we never get anwsers to these questions, and probably never will.
