"yes you can import from origins, awakenings, or GOA...though the last two will only affect your equipment and level not anything to do with morrigan dialogue anyways - fyi, if you have dog in origins he also is the mabari in witch hunt"[/quote]

Actually, you have a "dog" companion in WH whether or not you had "Dog" as a party member in Origins.

Let's face it; how can you possibly tell "dog" from "Dog". It's not like there was ever any dialogue there.

("Go fetch!"

"Whine, whine", tail wagging...)

I think I'm supposed to play Awakening before Witch Hunt, right?

If you want the increased benefits to be derived from playing it: higher levels, more equipment, etc.

How long is Awakening on average? 10-15 hours?

I have it sitting right here, but haven't started it yet, since I just finished my first playthrough of Origins today.

Witch Hunt is one year after Origins, Which if you did the Dark ritual with her, the god baby would be a couple of months old? (Like we will ever see it anyway.)

Overall I'm excited about this DLC, but at the same time I don't want to buy it, to have Morrigan still run off to her little mirror world.

The Morrigan story could of been an expansion or a whole new game, instead BioWare squeezed it into a 2hour DLC.

It took me 3 days to complete my first playthrough, the end boss is haaaaaaard, just sayin.

And yes, Awakening is before Witch Hunt.

Aw... I remember my first playthrough... Well, keep in mind Awakening is a expansion onto the game, not a whole game, which many people keep forgetting. It's not going to be as long, it's not going to have as many options/rommanced with companions. However, I'm playing through it for the fifth time right now, and I enjoy it... it's a good solid story that fits what happens to the Warden after the Blight. It will definitly boost your level... and give you items/weapons/armor that is supperior to origins. If you haven't played it, I'd suggest doing so, but keeping your expectation at a reasonable level.

I like the talents more than the actual story. They add some really great balance to all classes + fun factor. Archers actually pwn and warriors have some of their stamina issues solved.

Hahahahaha!

I'm probably NOT the guy to ask. I absolutely get the max out of my games, playing multiple dialogue options, battle strategies, looking everywhere, and generally just lollygagging around.

I got a little over 7 hours out of Amgarrak. I got 64 hours out of Awakenings. Leliana's Song went for 8.5 hours. I played the OC for 176 hours including the Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep, and Return to Ostagar DLC.

I definitely get my money's worth.

Oh, don't worry. I'm not expecting too much. I bought Awakening along with Origins, and having finished Origins, I'm just asking some questions before starting Awakening.

Right now my plan is like this: Play Lair of the Shadow Broker tomorrow, finish it, then start Awakening, play through it, finish it, then buy Witch Hunt and play it.

PS.

I finished the OC at Level 22. I finished Awakenings at Level 34. Something to bear in mind.

So I can either import from GOA which has my Warden, chronologically, in his "current" state but Morrigan will act like she dosen't even know him? Or I can import from Origins, which is like going back in time and playing this DLC?

No, no. If you import from Amgarrak -- assuming you played the same character from the OC -- you're still playing your OC character, and all the interactions you've had with Morri will carry forward. Amgarrak is simply an adventure you've had while you're looking for her, is one way of looking at it.

But if you created a new character for Amgarrak -- yeah, I think you're screwed.

Yes you can import... if that was your question.

Will not having played Awakening affect my experience with Witch Hunt? Besides the better loot and exp?

I7.00 is not much to pay for a dlc, BUT, paying 7.00 fro the pleasure of being more frustrated than when I started is just stupid..and the lack of promotion for the dlc and the rushed effort that seems to have gone into it also speak to its overall quality - sucks too, because I was hoping it was going to be shadowbroker quality - and it is clearly NOT -

I think the same. It's not a matter of price, it's a matter of principle. I'm not giving my money for another frustrating experience. As I said, I'll wait for the word once it's out.

At this point, nobody know whether or not decisions made in Awakening (such as the one with the Architect) will affect the DLC. It's entirely possible (could be an extra treat for those who bought awakening) but in my opinion highly unlikely. However, having some of the loot and exp from Awakening could serve to make your Witch Hunt battles a little easier (don't know how hard the Striders are).

If Morrigan survives this DLC, I'm hoping for war to breakout between Morrigan and Flemeth!

Story wise no. But dont underestimate the importance of loot and experience. The talents in Awakenings are really good and add balance to all classes.

Also, some encounters may prove much harder at lower levels. Take the Harvester from Golems DLC, depending on your class you may not be able to pwn it with a Origins character.
