3 mages = instant storm of the century.
Not instant... spells involved have a casting time. Thus can be disrupted.
But in general, SoC kicks ****, true.
PC blood mage/AW in Juggurnaut armor
Juggernaut SUCKS for a mage.
It has a HUGE fatigue penalty AND doesn't offer any fatigue cutbacks (as compared to so many other cool heavy armors).
Also, its set bonuses (+3 STR, +3 CON) are basically useless for a mage.
I've got the Juggernaut on Sten, and would NEVER consider putting it on my Arcane Warrior even against Blood Dragon armor, not to mention Wade's superior heavy armor (the one with near immunity to fire and -20% fatigue).
tanks and CC the mob inside the storm. Drag a ranged rogue along just for chest and traps.
I run with 2 mages, 1 tank (2H, Sten) & 1 rogue (Leliana customised into backstabber dual-wielder assassin). At party level 9-10 I ripped through the Revenant tombs in Brecilian with only 1 or 2 characters being knocked out at most, and sometimes all stay on their feet.
Recently though, I HAVE been thinking about a 3 mage strategy. IHATEWYNNE, though, so I was thinking about maybe remaking Leliana into a mage, and taking Zevran as a rogue/assassin. I'm not sure about it, though, I like having Sten or the golem around for damage soaking and generally being badass. Plus mages are so frikin dependent on mana (or health, if they go blood mode), a tank can just soak damage and dish out dps 100% steady.
I wish there was a mage/rogue hybrid... of course, I can make one myself, but that would be severely shafting DAO's RPG system...
