The dreaded Archdemon has been slain and the advance of the darkspawn halted by a lone, heroic Grey Warden. The kingdom rejoices, but at least one question remains: what happened to Morrigan? The sorceress joined the Wardens cause, but it is said her true purpose was not revealed until the eve of the last battle. She vanished into the shadows, and while rumors claimed she crossed over the mountains into Orlais no trace of her path could be found. She was never heard from again... until now. Nearly a year has passed since the Archdemon's death, and word has reached the Wardens that Morrigan has returned to Ferelden. She has been sighted in the southern wilderness where she was first encountered. Is it truly her? If it is, then why has is she here and what secret does she carry with her? The Warden heads into the forest to find out and tie up this last loose end once and for all.

Key Features:
  • Confront Morrigan in this dramatic conclusion to the Origins storyline
  • Earn powerful rewards that transfer into your Awakening and Origins campaign
  • Import your character from Origins or Awakening or create a new, high-level hero!

This is where the thread goes, correct?

Ah-ha! That's what I get for completely ignoring every other aspect of this forum except the spoiler section and the DA2 boards:

A conclusion to the Origins storyline - I like the sound of that.

If nearly a year passed then she should have had her child by then. But if you can use your Awakening Warden then that means that she doesn't have to have been pregnant. Are they going to do two seperate storylines for DR or ont or just gloss over the issue even though as far as I can tell that's the main reason non-romanced Wardens would have to look for her.

Honestly, I sort of feel weird that Liaramancers and Morrimancers seem to be getting their own DLCs. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm reservedly ecstatic about the idea and getting a story-based DLC--I will definitely buy it, but it seems that (yet again) the other romance options are for some reason out of the loop.

I mean, Alistair could be the father of this kid (as could Loghain). I sort of think they'd want to come.

So if your Warden died, will the Orlesian Warden be able to pick up where your Warden left off or will you need to begin from the default world?

Probably default world. In Awakening, Alistair is the default king and it is unlikely he'd have agreed to the dark ritual with Morrigan. Loghain's dead if Alistair is king so that leaves no one to do the ritual with Morrigan. I am guessing that the new warden will have the same dialogue as those who turned down the ritual on the origins character, just worded differently.

The only way you get a new Warden is if the Origins one is declared dead via US so I agree. Maybe she'd tell a new Warden that the old one's sacrifice was unnecessary so you won't need to metagame as much?

If your right and it is a default world, I'm not getting it. Doesn't seem worth my time; kind of like how Awakening wasn't. :P

I liked having each toon having a dlc - until I realized that the only toons that got them were the sexy female ones. Yay blatant sexism again, Bioware. Where is my Zevran DLC? Or even an Alistair one? Loghain? Or even Wynne/Shale (although I probably wouldn't have wanted that one)

I don't mean to rain on a parade, Im glad that we're going to resolve the Morrigan issue - but it just seems really anticlimactic. You spend hours building a story, and then tack on a 7.00 ending.

So, no two years of DLC--and no second expansion to deal with as large a storyline as Morrigan.... No background stories except for Leliana....

I can't help but wonder if this is a move to make everyone write off their warden and buy into DA2, when they could easily keep selling DLC.

Wait, what? This doesn't have the other companions? Really? Again? That will annoy the b'jaysus out of me if it's true....

I think it's because they have a tighter focus on DA2. They've got the formula just the way they want it -- distinctive graphics and a "face" for their product. Easier to wrap things up with DAO and move forward with their new system. Since this is the last DLC for origins, yeah, our wardens are taking their final bow.

It's the last DLC? I saw where it said it was "the end of the Origins storyline" but I had my fingers crossed for perhaps some more prequels.

Then you should be officially annoyed.

We will have a female elven warrior companion, a mage (no word on his background), and if one of the screenshots is to be believed, possibly DOG!!!

EDIT: I would like to add that I am positively giddy for this DLC! I don't care that it's the last one for DA:O so long as it's good.

And my gut says that it will be.

If this is the last DLC. I will be ok with it. I just wish I could have had one more DLC where I met up with STen at the pier, but I am still happy. I get my morrigan again woohoo.

It would be less of a default if you import an origin character who got to the end but nothing's been all that personalized. You hear the name of your dwarven King a few times and saw Alistair or Anora for all of two minutes.

If this is the last Origins DLC then I hope we don't disappear at the end of it (say, going off with Morrigan for whatever her plans are) because that would seriously suck and my Wardens would probably ditch her at the first opportunity. Posted Image

It's been confirmed a few times that this is the last DLC, sorry to say. =/

Yes, Witch Hunt is the final DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, and imo a great send off to an awesome game.

What happened to "2 years..."? Dragon Age 2. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

It just feels like this is the conclusion the story of men who romanced Morrigan.

Consider this:

If you're looking on this only from the romance perspective, out of all the romances in Dragon Age Morrigan's is the only one you never get any personal closure on. Not even a little bit. I understand wanting more from Alistair, Zevran and Leliana but you do at least get something from them... whereas from Morrigan you get nothing (albeit for very good reasons).

So for those men who romanced Morrigan, you might want to cut them some slack.

That said, that's not the only reason to do this DLC-- I would think many  people would be curious as to what the future holds regarding Morrigan. And, yes, it takes all the various ending states of Origins into account. And, yes, in case anyone's wondering I wrote the Morrigan part.

It is the last DLC, confirmed by Priestly, http://social.biowar...68066/7#4568836.

I don't think you'll be forced to run away with her though. Considering that revenge is being touted as an option in the official website, I really doubt they'll force you into such path. You'll probably be free to stay in Orzammar without being called to run errands once and for all! :wizard:

That is a sticking point. But if either Alistair and Loghain do the DR, both say they never want to see Morrigan or the OGB ever again. If you check in the toolset, it very clearly takes note of the DR choices to be saved for post release content- I'm guessing this is that PRC.

But I'm thinking that the Old God Baby won't play a huge role in this- I PM'd Gaider about it as on the homepage for the social site, the spalsh page for Witch Hunt says "All your Morrigan questions answered!" and I was doubting they'd answer ALL the questions. He said they were mmostly aiming for closure.

So its entirely possible that Morrigan and the OGB turn up down the road....

Alistair talks about wondering what it will cost, so while he doesn't care to see Morrigan again, he is concerned about what the kid will mean.

I'm not holding my breath that we'll see him again.  Seems clear that the aim is to pump for cash and hence the male players are the ones they are catering to in the DLC as well as in DA2 marketing.

Look closely on this screenshot and you can clearly spot a mabari. Whether it's our mabari from Origins is yet to know, but I sure hope so!
