Ha ha dog returns! Excellent! What more could I ask for in a dlc? My wardens back in all his bearded goodness, some sort of conclusion to my Morrigan romance (and possibly the OGB), faithful ole Mabari. The only way this dlc could be better is if it allowed me to stab a drunken hobo Alistair (aw go on Bioware, please?)
Well there's always the chance you could do that in DA2...

Or no period, maybe.
True!

But that's beside the point really, had another look at the screenies: is that a Strider in the back of one of them? Is this going to be lik GoA where they introduce a new enemy just so we know well have to fight them again in DA2?

EDIT: Also, I am the only one who thinks this Strider creature is copy of Half Life 2's Strider? Same name and a similar look...

I know he's supposed to 'stay by your side' but does that really make it realistic that he's following you around like a puppy 24/7?
Not 'following around like a puppy', but we would back eachother up when dangerous missions happen, surely! It makes no sence to go 'oh, hey, btw, I'm gonna go hunt Morrigan. You go do whatever. Bye.' Especialy if you play a male who romanced Morrigan all the way to the end, and had Zevran as you BF. You can get an ending that says Zevran travels with you in your searcvh for Morrigan. So his absence is very very WTF.

Unless he happens to be off, not following you around like a puppy, when you get the news about Morrigan and don't have time to wait for him to come back or else you'll lose her.
My point being where the hell is he off to? Like I said, with Awakenings it made little sence as many of my Wardens would not have been available to randomly be sent on a mission, or would have gone with Zevran to Antiva.
Likewise, it would be pretty weak for them to try to use this type of excuse again. As though Zevran would really say 'I'm going to go on a long trip without you', and my warden would actually agree to that. It doesn't make sence for Zevran, who needed so badly to have something and someone in life to hold on to, and it doesn't make sence for my wardens, who ether have that same need as him, would fear for his safety, who don't like being alone, etc.
Lets examine in real life. If you are partners romanticly with someone, and they randomly decide they're going to go it alone and leave you hanging, would you just be like 'ok, you go do that'? And then, if this world were as dangerous and full of uncertanty as their world is, even if we were friends rather than romantic partners, I wouldn't want to go it alone, nor would I want to risk letting someone I care about go it alone.

As is the absence of Alistair if he's not made king, but game logic must fall to VA budgets I'm sure.EccentricSage wrote...

Still, Bioware seems to reuse a lot of its VAs (most of the ones who had major roles in DA had minor roles in ME2 and vice versa...not to mention popping up in the DLCs) so one wonders how often they call them in to the studio.

While I agree with the general sentiment that an expansion would've been much more fitting, I'm still positively giddy about this DLC. Giddy!

To be honest I wish they hadn't made DSC and GoA and instead pass on the budget for those DLC onto this one. Then again, the budget for DSC and GoA can't have been too big!

We can only hope they mailed it in on GOA because they were pumping so much into WH.

Being a Mac user, I'll just have to wait for the reviews... I hope this will be good though, it has a lot to live up to. I guess the good part about waiting is that if I'm forced to do away with my main character or Alistair I can choose not to buy it and write my own ending to the saga
