How do I add say, a city tileset to a forest tileset area?

I've seen this done on other modules, but never learned how..

This need hak-pack and some work with .set editor, I even dont know how exactly, my attempt failed, the tile appeared red, ant it was not possible to place it.

There is another way however, there exist visual effect with appearance of tile, I guess thats what you have seen elsewhere. To do that you need to apply the given visual effect to invisible placeable object centered in the middle of the tile. See Lexicon

Here is another answer by ShadoOow.   I guess he would be a better judge of if it is what you are looking for.

Yea but thats only within one tileset. You cant combine by this way two diffferent tilesets unfortunately. This approach is useful for castle/city interiour where are different terrain and some tiles cannot be normally placed in specific terrain (as they generate other terrain around that tile)

Hmm, I didn't have to download any hak paks, must be a CEP feature or something...

Cause this server was definitely using non-standard tiles in some really strange areas..

Ok, let me back this up some...

I saw on a server, in a forest area, trees (big ones) where you could walk around on this map, in the trees, like it was a town in the trees, you could climb stuff like you were in a Rural area where the tiles are raised as hills, totally blew my mind too! - No Hak Pak Required by the server either! and it had some really cool layout, though, it's rather hard to describe this awsome scene man...

I'd love to learn how to build like that!

It is in CEP. They combined in the forest tile city and rural section as well as desert now that I think about it to make alot of new features.

You need haks to do this.

The reason you saw it in the CEP is because the CEP is, surprise, a bunch of haks!

If you want to make your own merged tileset, it involves a modified .SET file, and the relevent .mdl and texture files (.tga or .dds) all put into a hak.

As for how to modify a .SET file, I dunno, but there are tutorials out there.  Check the sticky thread on the Custom Content forum.

Thanks for confirming that for me, I was suspecting this is what they were doing..
