 I think this should be here, if not, I will delete it and move it to the appropriate place.
Even after beating Saren, my game doesn't register the autosave, so after the post-saren cinematic I end up at the main menu so I'm perpetually stuck in the Saren boss fight. Is this because I skip the credits or something?

If you were going to respond, do not as I have managed to transfer into ME2 with this save file so there is no problem.

The trick is that there is no problem. The end-game save file created when you win the game - let's call it an "export file" - is different than the ones you create in the course of playing ME1, so it does not load back into the game through the Save Game menu. (You can start a new game with your character's appearance and leveling by choosing to use an "Existing ID" after selecting New Game. This also is a way to confirm the export file is there.) Despite this lack of fanfare, hitting the credits means that an export file was created and can be imported into ME2.

ME1 does not create any further auto saves after the boss fight, even when you complete the game, so if you choose Resume after winning it will indeed put you right back there. That doesn't mean anything went wrong with the creation of the export file.

I have the same problem. I end the game, view the credits and when I want to start a new game on ME2 with my existing profile of ME1... there is no existing ME1 profiles to load. I have fought Saren like 8 times and always the same. The last savegame I have is just in the console platform after Saren shot himself and I'm stuck there.

akiha, you've used the save import in ME2's config utility?



If you have - do your end-game saves at least appear in ME1's New Game -> Use Existing ID?
