So they've been boasting that the main quest alone should take 60 hours and that if you do everything that it's over 120 hours of gameplay.  I've invested 48 and the only thing left for me to do is the very last portion of the main quest.  I've even done both DLC's, killed all the stupid dragons, etc.  Kind of disappointed honestly.

Disappointing? Not many games today can you get 40+ hours of gameplay. Enjoy what you got and do a second run through it with a different class.

The game was quite a bit shorter than I expected as well. I didn't exactly rush through it, read most of the codex entries and did a large majority of side quests and I only clocked in at 35 hours. After recently playing Tales of Symphonia and clocking in at 70 without all the sidequests, I was kind of hoping Bioware would have more to show for a game so long in development.

I played as a dual-wield warrior on hard, and all but the toughest boss fights were far too easy.

Hopefully some DLC can continue the adventures of our characters. I'm super attached to the party members.

Well if they hadn't said you could get up to 120 hours of gameplay I wouldn't be so upset. But the fact that I can do EVERYTHING in less time then they said you could do just the main quest is kind of lame.

I dont think anyone has said its a bad deal but they have advertised up to 120 hours and at best its half of that I did every side quest i possibly could still beat the game in 65 hours..... and thats including time for smoke breaks

It's not bad, just that they apparently lied about how much time you can get out of it. I can get more than 48 hours out of a FF game easy.

Imagine that. People trying to sell you on the game didn't quite tell the whole truth.

I did most side quests and i finished in 55 hours, however, my game completion still only says 53%

Theres still plenty of things to do.

Never believe marketing, especialy EA.  40 hours isn't bad, it's still a huge improvment over ME.

If you don't have 100% completion, then there's still stuff to do, unless you opted out of it due to choices made earlier in the game.

Are you skipping dialogue? Not talking to companions? Not reading codex entries? I've put in a lot of time, but my progress is still less than 50%. I'd have to check my game to get the exact stats, but I find myself often wondering WHEN the game will be over. With so many people saying that they've finished their run-through of the game already, I'm becoming more eager to finish it myself and start on a 2nd run-through.

Regarding where you find the stats for "time played", just check your character profile and then click on the "long" button that's above the "level up" button. That one should give you your other stats.

A dvd costs $20 ..maybe $15. In the price you paid for DA:O you couldve bought 3 dvds? Lets say 4 dvds just for the sake of argument. So 4 dvds at 2 hours each = 8 hours of content. DA:O gives you 40 hours and you're complaining? Thats 5x the content those dvds wouldve cost you. The way I see it, you got your moneys worth 5x over and you've only played through once.

Think about this people with the 6 origin stories (and this game wants you to experience all of them) if you do none of the sidequests you get well over 60 hours of gameplay. I think that is what they meant

This is while looking at your in-game character profile.

I agree with FFLB. There is no possible way to reap EVERY reward in one play through. Not to mention there are 4 endings!! So if it takes you 40 hours to get to each ending, 40x4= oh **** that means 120 hours, give or take depending on skill and etc.Bioware said you can spend 120 hours playing the game, they didnt say in just one play through.

One play through wont get you every where, see everything, do everything, and experiance everything the game has to offer. There are differences and insights by doing different origins and making different choices along the way.

the 6 origin stories x male (or female) x 4 endings....yeah to get everything, you gotta play it more than once. Most games right now are "play it and shelve it" games. Nothing aginst the gamer who plays like this, but i want to see more games with replayability, and BioWare delivers, hands down.

What percentage of completion does the game say you're at? Just because you think you've done all that there is to do doesn't mean you necessarily have.

Beyond that, as has been said (and I realize it's not your entire point) 40-50 hours of gameplay on a game as re-playable as this is pretty good, even if you really are at 100% completion. I know I plan on playing through a few times with different builds & making different decisions. I'm over 40hours in, not sure how much longer I still have as I haven't checked any walk throughs & have limited my spoiler exposure, but even if this play through ended after another 8 or so hours, I would be far from disappointed.

I just finished my first session of Dragon Age with a Dalish elf and did Morrigans ritual ending. Overall i left Fereldan in pretty good shape. 54 hours for my first play through, and i had the strategy guide. Now i wonder how on the next play through how i can screw it up and still get around to killing the archdemon, haha.

I know on my first play through I was only at 38 percent done and that is at 45 hours of playtime completing a ton of the side quests so for me to get 100 percent done I am looking at over 100 hours of playtime.

However 24 hours of that is running in circles and grinding.

This game is somthing that you don't grind at all. You just actually continue with the story.
