im 65 hours in and im still working on the main quest and have at least 5-10 side quests im in the middle of. now my friend is at the end of the game at 63 hours.
the game was meant to be played more than once, thats why there are many different styles and choices to choose from while playing a second time. hell, i played mass effect about 5 times all the way through and its definitely skinnier than DAO.

I have over 30 hours iirc and i am only about 25% complete. Even longer actually counting the time when i had to keep on reloading old saves because of a wipe or a dialogue option that i was not happy about.

Why everyone is all up in arms over gameplay time is beyond me, I'd much rather play through an awesome short game, than a boring long one. That said, I rushed through the main story (Only did a couple side quests along the way) and clocked about 40 hours.
I'm far from disappointed, as it has an amazing and immersive story, sure I'd love it to be longer, but I'm not gonna complain because I was expecting to be playing it for another 2 weeks before beating it.
Quality > Quantity, and Dragon Age: Origins had a lot of quality game hours in it.

Are you kidding? Too short...or marketing lies from EA? Really?
Quick things to mention: a) Take a look at Infinity Ward's latest romp through the Modern Warfare title just released. SP campaign is a mere 5-7 hours, is linear, and has virtually no real storyline.
I'm not a big fan, generally, of RPGs. I have tried many and gotten about mid-way through many with some excitement and interest (Fallout 3, Oblivion, Mass Effect), but this game is quite easily a work of such exceptional quality and depth, it is truly engrossing.
Look: it takes about 2-3 hours for most people to complete the origin stories for each of the 6 stories. Even if you only played up to meeting the King, you'd still have, and remember this is just the "intro to your character" story, about 15 hours of gameplay from that alone. Then there's 4 endings (I've not even gotten through this once yet). I have a hard time understanding what the hell you're saying. Please, for the love of the bard, tell us what other game has ever offered the quality and depth, notwithstanding length, to which you're comparing this game?
Please...I'm begging you...If there's a game that's this good and of equal length, and you can tell me what it is (including quality voice-acting, its own universe not based on D&D ruleset, has its own cutscenes with your character prominently shown, etc), I will go out and never post again. I promise.
So...anyhoo...back to the game.

huh lvl up button?
Can ya give me a link to where id see the profile im supposed to be looking at. For some reason I can not see any lvl up button.
This is while looking at your in-game character profile.
I dont get it. Looking at the in game profile shows me my achievements and my screen shots. Clicking on the button for online profile doesnt show me game time or percentage either. What am I missing?

I think it's a lot to do with what kind of player you are. I love lore, taking it slow, weigh my choices and so fourth.

It's not in an intuitive spot, I'll give you that. Bring up the character view and with any character you will see a box in the bottom right called "Heroic Achievements". When you click that, and scroll through it, you'll find information on the amount of the game completed and amount of the world seen. It's a cool box I hit one day on a whim, and since then it's provided a lot of good information (like how much each party member contributes to damage, numbers slain, etc.).

Where do i get to see the number of hours i have sank into this game?
Look one post up
Also: if you DL'd from Steam, you can load Steam's main app window, and click on the "Community" tab. It will list your game hours spent. But be warned...it can be shocking

It can take a full day just to get your character to look exactly right.
As you can see......I still have a long way to go. o_O

I've never heard this game being advertised as 120 hours except when it comes to "people who take their time and smell the roses". They've been rather realistically speaking of the game lasting 60-80 hours for most people.
I don't remember this ever being advertised as 120 hours of play time, either. I think even the 80 hour mark involved reading a lot of the codex entries. Also, don't forget the times you're reloading or when the game is paused (the clock doesn't tick when it's paused). The "time played" is probably significantly less than what you actually played.

Then try to think how much quests and stuff you actuall have read and maybe (if you really into this game) you will find out, hang on if I played it again, I could even start reading stuff and instead of powerlevel through actuall enjoy the game :-)
Not sure how much hours I have spend (my guess is around 15ish ?? and I partly finished the elven forest and Redcliff).
Finally please people we are talking about marketing here, please get a grip. If someone tells you a game will take 120 hours, believe me you can do it faster. Its like a movie telling you its the best ever. Do you actuall believe it will be the best film ever ??

I know I've seen the majority of the game already but honestly there is still a ton of stuff left for me to do (not to mention if I actually stop and read every single codex entry) so I'm sure I'll clock in over 100 hours trying to see every thing.
And then I'll be ready for the player mods that will start coming out...

For all the people that do the game inside 30 hours (not sure how you do that on hard settings and never dying, and thinking this is an easy walkover game) maybe you should think : Djee, I must be uber to be able to finish the game within this amount of time.

Not saying I won't play this game again, I actually am going with my downloaded content, but to say a game has 120+ hours of playtime but leaving out the part about that being 4+ play throughs is BS. If you want to brag about game content then at least back it up or put a * by your claim to having "X" amount of hours stateing that this includes downloaded content, reading every single codex entry and more then one play through. I was also level 22 when I beat the game incase some people where thinking that I really didn't do the majority of the game.

One play through wont get you every where, see everything, do everything, and experiance everything the game has to offer. There are differences and insights by doing different origins and making different choices along the way.
9 endings.
