That was a female human mage.
My second time through will likely take at least that long on my elf rogue. that's 100hours on 2 archetypes...
150hours when I do the noble origin.
Now I also have 3 races to explore as well as each plays VERY differently... Human dwarf Noble is 2 x 50...x2 for male / female.. 200 hours...
Mages are limited to Human/elf... but have SO many options in abilities and ways to be played...another 200ish hours there for both sexs /races//
rogues can be played by all three races and both sexes... with a variety of specs ...another 300 hours ..
So yeah.. um...lots of enjoyment to be had...

Can ya give me a link to where id see the profile im supposed to be looking at. For some reason I can not see any lvl up button.
This is while looking at your in-game character profile.
I dont get it. Looking at the in game profile shows me my achievements and my screen shots. Clicking on the button for online profile doesnt show me game time or percentage either. What am I missing?
It's not in an intuitive spot, I'll give you that. Bring up the character view and with any character you will see a box in the bottom right called "Heroic Achievements". When you click that, and scroll through it, you'll find information on the amount of the game completed and amount of the world seen. It's a cool box I hit one day on a whim, and since then it's provided a lot of good information (like how much each party member contributes to damage, numbers slain, etc.).
I dont have any button that says Herioc Achievement

I was about to make a post about this but decided to look first. I really enjoyed this game a lot, however I agree that saying this game has over 100 hours of game play is insane. I did every quest I could find and beat the game at 35 hours, and at least 3-5 of those hours where spent away from my Xbox with it still running the game. Do they include reading the codex in this estimated time as well as 2 play throughs with the bonus content? I have the Stone Prisoner content but decided to save it for my second play through thinking I would be on my first one for a long time. I know its hard to find a game with decent play through time but it took me 60+ hours to beat Mass Effect (side quests included), somehow it seems odd that a game made by the same company 2 years ago had double the playtime of this, and had voice acting for the main character on top of that. I will probably still end up getting 100+ hours out of this game, but I am pretty pissed that I beat the game in such a short time.
Now I just dont belive you Im at 22 hours and Ive only got halfway through the main story line and done virtually no side quests.

I try to read everything (all codex entries) and do a lot of careful exploration to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Post citations to their claims, please. Do they say "guaranteed 120 hours," "about 120 hours" or "up to 120 hours?" Big difference.
One person who played the game said that they got up to 120 hours out of it but it was commeted that he was a really slow gamer

Basically that time was a rough estimate of what a typical gamer would spend in the game if they died frequently enough to the point where they were learning fights and what not. So, with that in mind, if you already have a good strategy setup and know where to go for all the quests, then it will obviously go by quicker than what is labeled on the box.

On another note, Oblivion is only a 6 hour game since I can bang through the main quest line in that time!

I dont think anyone has said its a bad deal but they have advertised up to 120 hours and at best its half of that I did every side quest i possibly could still beat the game in 65 hours..... and thats including time for smoke breaks
Where was it advertised as 120 hours long? I remember one dev clocked in at 120 hours. That's not "advertised".

Haha! I think I have 100 hours logged in Oblivion and haven't even touched the main quest. One of these days I'm going to actually finish it.

It's not bad, just that they apparently lied about how much time you can get out of it. I can get more than 48 hours out of a FF game easy.
I can't remember the last time a developer was accurate about the length of their game. Their estimates probably have some justifiable logic, so even if you disagree on the game length, it seems rude to imply that they intentionaly decieved you. I believe I got a good deal on this game since most games only deliver on about 10 to 15 hours and no reply value.
If Dragon Age is giving 40+ hours plus great replay value, I'd say that's a win.

I haven't even read half of my codex's yet.
At 35h when some people said they were finished I had completed redclife, wardens keep and shale and was starting the Dalish. Either you guys are playing a different game or your idea of playing is simply getting from point A to point B.
This isn't some task you have to complete.
I think it sums up best when you call games like Dragon Age an interactive book/movie. Looks like a movie, story like a book and plays like a game. Perfect in my opinion.
I have spent atleast an hour simply looking at the game areas. The Elven ruin - beautiful in design. If you play using nothing but the isometric camera you are missing out.
I spent at one point 1,5h simply talking to the characters in my camp.
I have heard though that the X-Box and PS3 versions tend to end sooner because they have a much lower difficulty setting. Simply because the interface and gameplay is not as fluid and effective as on the PC.
After those 73h I'm at 40% of the game complete and 55% explored. So far it's living up to my expectations completely.
And my friend is playing right next to me(I have two PC-s) and he's 20h behind and looks like he's going to get the same amount out of the game.
Ya'll are playing some other game me thinks...

/agree, hell some games arent even 10 hours long, like MW2 is only about 7 or so hours and that depends on how fast you kill everything, for DA im at probably 50 hours so far b/c i like screwing around i bought it when it came out too.GravityParade wrote...

I don't particularly think I'm wasting any time. I'm doing a lot of side quests but I do refuse quite a few on roleplay grounds, so I'm not a completionist or anything. I'm doing what makes sense to my character and at (only!) 30 hours in it's looking like a generous amount of RPG'ness in one playthrough.

So they've been boasting that the main quest alone should take 60 hours and that if you do everything that it's over 120 hours of gameplay. I've invested 48 and the only thing left for me to do is the very last portion of the main quest. I've even done both DLC's, killed all the stupid dragons, etc. Kind of disappointed honestly.
I have about the same number of hours and I'm only about half done. I haven't been the elf or dwarf areas or done the Stone Prisoner yet. You missed a lot of stuff.
