To clear a few things up.

No new content for Dragon Age: Origins INCLUDES no new content for Dragon Age: Origins Awakening. Witch Hunt is the final new content for Dragon Age: Origins.

I know this is not what a lot of you wanted to hear, but I thought it better to let you all know so you can look forward to Witch Hunt and DA2 without holding hope for more DA:O.

And much is being said of "What about the promise of 2 years of DLC?" or "You broke your promise" or similar. We made this promise while we were finishing Dragon Age: Origins and were working on Dragon Age: Origins Awakening and DLC. We did not expect DA2 to come together so well or so quickly. We could have chosen to delay DA2 and continued to put out DA:O DLC, but we know how awesome DA2is going to be. The decision was made to continue making DLC all the way to Witch Hunt and then it would end as we ramped up for DA2. When we said "2 years of DLC" we said that in good faith, but when something as excellent as Dragon Age 2 comes along, it changes plans for the better.

While I understand this upsets a few of you, you still get awesome DLC like Darkspawn Chronicles, Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt, plus loads of excellent fan made adventures through the Dragon Age toolset  and then have a brand new Dragon Age adventure to look forward to with Dragon Age 2. :)

Thank you for clearing that up so well and very tactfully. I myself
would much rather have the 2nd full game in the series rather than
having some tid bit  DLC's over a 2 year period. I'm very happy you are
ending the DLC on the Morrigan DLC to clear up the relationships our
characters have with her, to finish that story. I can't think of a
better way to end the DLC's for DAO.../../../../images/forum/emoticons/wink.png

But what about patchs for Dragon Age Origins and Awakening? Is the games going to stay this buggy....

PC players atleast have fan made patch fixs but what about console players? What about PC people who may not want to use player fixs? Should Dragon Age remain incomplete and not truely reach full potential for all systems?

Why have has Bioware avoid this issue and just start pulling all into the next game.... As a loyal fan I feel Bioware has gone to the dark side and truely makes me sad.

Even though one customer might not count but untill adressed I will not buy any more Bioware products...

Off topic: ME2 needs patching as well.

@VanTesla I fully agree DAO and ME2 both still need much patching. I hope as well since they are stopping the DLC's, they don't stop patching the games.

Bioware: The reason I buy and play your games is you are a master at telling a story. You are so good in fact that you get people to love your characters and love your game worlds. You did a great job with Dragon Age Origins in crafting an entirely new world with Ferelden and mythology like the Grey Wardens (unlike your previous games which were set in the Forgotten Realms). You did an amazing job in creating companions that became our friends, lovers, and enemies as we experienced the story of the Grey Warden becoming the hero of Ferelden. You hired some great voice actors like Claudia Black who voiced Morrigan, Kate Mulgrew who voiced Flemeth, and Corrine Kempa who voiced Leliana. The music was outstanding (probably the best I have ever heard in a video game), and the cinematics like Sacred Ashes were incredible and got me very excited to play the game.

So is it any wonder that when you say you are not making any more DLCs or expansions for such a beloved game as Dragon Age Origins that your passionate fans might be upset?! Is it any wonder that when you promise us a new DLC for each companion and begin to fulfill that promise with Leliana's Song and Witch Hunt and then suddenly stop and say "this is the last one" that people might feel betrayed?! Why can't you guys work on Dragon Age 2 and more expansions or DLC for Dragon Age Origins?! Why can't you do both? You give us nothing to do for 6 months from Wtich Hunt until Dragon Age 2!!! Thanks a lot! Hopefully, thanks to your toolkit there will be some good modders out there in the Dragon Age community that can create some custom content and adventures for us to download and play. But I guess I am going back to playing World of Warcaft after Witch Hunt since you leave us nothing to play for 6 months! And I have already played all your DLC except the Darkspawn Chronicles which I am not interested in playing.

I agree with all the other people commenting that you guys need to have a Dragon Age Ultimate Edition that includes all released game content for Dragon Age Origins including all the DLCs and the Awakening expansion, and it should include both the PC and Mac version (Blizzard does this, why can't you?). Also, I agree that you guys need to continue to patch and support Dragon Age Origins, Awakening, and the DLCs--Awakening especially was very buggy when first released!!! Finally, I gave Dragon Age Awakening a great review on Amazon.com with 4 stars out of 5 even though I actually think Origins was a much better game (5 stars for sure!). You can read my review here: www.amazon.com/review/R2PPVJEFPSWAD8/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm.

Looking forward to Dragon Age 2 and Witch Hunt, but feeling very disappointed with your decision not to release any more content for Dragon Age Origins. This is a missed opportunity as your fans would have continued to buy more expansions, more DLC, and Dragon Age 2. :crying:

Oh well, no biggie to me. I've never been a fan of DLC. I like to get the full experience out of the game's shelf price. I also like to have everything in physical form, so I've pretty much passed on all DLC.

We have no plans for another expansion. The Witch Hunt DLC is the last new Dragon Age: Origins content.

Don't make the internet a promise if you know you can't keep it.

"BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk has said that his company's upcoming RPG Dragon Age: Origins might be supported by downloadable content for up to two years"

LOL. I'm happy and disappointed at the same time. Over the course of DA:O I, like others have spent at least, **** any ware from $135-150 on it. I’m not saying I feel some kind of entitlement  to anything, What I am saying is I like many other are huge fan of the game, and would never have spent this kind of money on something I don’t like. The only other franchises that  get this kind of money form me are Halo, and Massefffect.
However It‘s sort of a let down to see out story wrapped up in a 560 point DLC, and if my M$oft to game play converter is working right, like the other DAO DLC this is looking to be a 45 min to MAYBE and hour and a half expansion to the story.
I like many other are at a loss for this, because this essentially ends our Wardens story, and the outcome of a “GOOD” ending, is seeming less and less likely. I myself am getting that “kill the Warden off no matter what” vibe for this DLC.  I think its just the thought of it all ending in a small piece of DLC and not some enormous expansion that bothers me. I’m sure that this will be a great story, but it seems like a sad way to send out a game that has enthralled so many people.

I have greately enjoyed the DLC. To know that Witch Hunt will be the last is a bitter taste indeed. To know there will not be any further official expansion--just as bitter. This is truly a great game, one that broke several of the over-played, almost cliche' barriers common to fantasy settings. Bioware, you did a great job with DA:0. You break my heart every time you release a game. Do you know that? I play it; I love it; I crave more of it--and then, like an angry mom, you take it away :( Why do you hurt me so? I swear sometimes I think you put heroine in your games.

I am, however, looking forward to DA2. I hope I don't have to buy a new computer to play it. But, I'm sure, in true Bioware style, the game will be ripe with character development and story. I can't wait.

I wish it was true. Dragon Age: Awakening doesn't really give an encouraging precedent. And no matter how loud you say "everything is awesome", I think I'm hearing EA's whiplash cracking behind your back, yelling "Giddy up".

Oh, prove me wrong pretty please. :?

If they are pulling the plug on future Origins dlc because DA2 is coming along nicely, I hope that means that DA2 isn't going to be released full of bugs like Origins was, or everyone will be saying how Bioware should have spent more time on DA2 and not rushing it.

Awesome DLC? Well ... maybe to you.
To me Darkspawn Chronicles was meh. Golems of Amgarrak is ok. Leliana's Song was fun for a run through but I probably won't play it again. Return to Ostagar was ok but too short - nostalgic though and I like nostalgia. I liked Warden's Keep though it says you get a base of operations which isn't true - you get a storage chest; the party camp still feels more like a base of operations. I truly liked Stone Prisoner - Honleath wasn't big but you got Shale who was worth it. Feast day presents and pranks was mildly amusing.
Awakenings was .. disappointing. I'll leave it at that.
I just hope Witch Hunt is better and actually gives more closure than "the warden's story isn't done and guess what they disappear ... again." -_-

I agree completely!

Im not going to preordering DA2 unless there are some amazing previews that say there is 100+ hours of gameplay 100+ endings and 1000+ choices with consequence...

Otherwise if it looks and is considered good by fans, i'll buy it after release.

Just can't shake off the EA influence.

As someone who bought only the original Dragon Age: Origins and none of the DLCs or the expansion, I think it is time for Dragon Age 2. 2 years might be too long. 1 year seems about right.

Dragon Age: Origins being "discontinued" shouldn't be a cause for alarm for fellow gamers. You can always just continue your adventures in Dragon Age 2. For a game that doesn't have multiplayer, you can only play DA:O so much before you get bored of it.

And surely if you had to choose between DLCs and a full game like DA2, wouldn't you choose DA2? Wouldn't it be better to spend money on a full game rather than all those bite-sized packets they call DLCs?

I only hope that for DA2, they will release DLCs that are worth their cost. $5 = 5-10 hours please.

Awww bummer, I was actually hoping for a few more DLC's and maybe another expension for DA:O :(

Especially more additions for roleplay. I don't care that much about the combat :P There are so many interesting characters around who I would like to know better and would like to spend more time with. Luckily Nathaniel will be back in DA2 (I wonder in what way though (*cough* love interest? *cough*), but how about Anders, Sigrun, etc? I think it's such a waste to leave characters with great potential behind, only to find more content in fanfiction. But then again, I understand you can't satisfy everyone, and I'm a dreamy one :innocent: I enjoyed myself lots with awakenings, just thought that the ending was disappointing in some way.

Oh well, looking forward to DA:2 then. *sobs a bit at the thought of saying goodbye to all DA:O friends :crying:*

I just hope for lots of dialogues and roleplay options. For that part Dragon Age is fairly unique to me (ME1 is still too much of a shooter for my likes, haven't yet tried ME2)   Keep it up Bioware :wizard:

No, that's still not quite the case.  Don't compare them saying "we plan" with "we promise".

Almost 30 years ago, I learned this lesson from my Dad.  Because he promised something I ended up dragging him to the other side of the city.  After that, many times he would say "no promises" because he didn't want that being used against him.

Business plans, even if they tell them to the people, are not promises, nor are they legal obligations.  You should always expect the unexpected.  I doubt they would have done two years of DLC if the company went bankrupt, or if they made absolutely no sales of the first few DLCs.  You should never expect any statement akin to "we plan" or "we have a goal" to equate an unbreakable promise.
