Same-sex romance in DA2?

But have we heard any word on whether or not we'll see the same same-sex romance options in the game? A huge, huge selling option for me was that I was able to romance either female or male characters and I can tell you that as a bisexual player, this really does mean a lot to me; I've always sung the praises for DA:O for including it when so few games out there do, much less do it well.
But after the rumors that Thane and others had been intended for same-sex romance but were nixed, now I"m worried we won't see it in the DA sequel. :\\
(Anyone hear or say anything, anyone, anyone, Bueller?)

The trailer also makes me wonder because Hawke appears to be kissing a woman, and Hawke could be a woman. So the potential for same-sex themes is definitely there.
This also could be the reason why they did not make a "Lady Hawke" trailer.

Who knows but with DA2 being streamlined and trying to get a broader audience they might cut them out to avoid a FOX news curfufle.
I think BW came out on top of this if the later apology is any clue. So this alone shouldn't be the/a hindrance.

It is probable that we won't know until Bioware starts handing out copies of the game, at the earliest.
We knew who the romance interests were for DAO and ME2 before the game came out...We can already surmise pirate-lady is a romance. I'm sure we'll find out, one way or another.

We didn't know Zevran was a gay romance until Bioware had started handing out copies to the media.Saibh wrote...

Are you sure? Because I seem to recall knowing this ahead of time. Maybe it was conjecture that the fabulously accented elf would be gay and not the jaw of justice lead human male, but I thought I knew this...

Also, it was not explicitly stated that ME2 had no homosexual romance until an interview just a few weeks before it came out. It may not be when the game ships, but I still bet it will not be until right before release that we hear about this.
This was especially jarring because they had previously promised same-sex would be included for guys in ME2.

I DOUBT IT AND HERE IS WHY:
The Warden was a blank slate. Nobody knew what he or she looked like because there wasn't a version of the character that people immediately associated with the franchise, including the trailer Warden, as he just appeared to be just some guy. Marketing focused on Duncan and party members for most of the gameplay related materials, and the Zevran/Leliana relationship wasn't revealed until very close to launch.
Hawke is the complete opposite of the Warden in terms of intellectual property. He already has an instantly recognizable face and individual style that when people see it, they will think Dragon Age 2. He's also going to be fully voiced and emotional, which means that they'd have to write out man-on-man romance dialogue that could and would be easily trimmed out of context, and discourage sales from straight gamers. As liberal as the creatives at BioWare are (I seem to recall one of them endorsing either Dennis Kucinich or that crazy old Alaskan man who made a campaign ad staring into the camera and then throwing big rocks in a lake, which had something to do with 9/11), I doubt they'd sabotage the financial viability of their own multi-million dollar project in the name of social progress.
I would also like to remind all you fruitloops that BW has a proven track record of doing gay relationships very poorly. Let's review:
Juhani: I don't like men and by default I am gay for you because you didn't kill me off, female Revan.
Sky: I used to have a wife and a daughter, and usually I'm not into dudes, but I'm totally gay for you all of a sudden. Thanks for hitting on me so much, use that tactic on straight guys in real life and see what happens.
Liara: Because my people don't have an actual gender, us having sex isn't all the way gay, just kinda gay.
Zevran: I bang men as well as women, and probably small animals, and anything that has a hole in it, and I'd really like to bang you, that syphillitic drunken dwarf, the giant family murderer, and every woman in the party regardless of their age, stupid religious beliefs, psychosis or being made out of stone.
So remember: even if Garrett Hawke does like to dock, the relationship is going to be the stupidest, least realistic one in the game. Ultimately, nobody wins, everything is terrible!

Also, the gay sex scene in DAO could have easily been taken out of context, just as the gay sex scene in ME was. Actually, I remember seeing it on a late show.
The fruitloop thing kinda seems a teense homophobic, wouldn't you say? Sort of makes it hard to see this as something other than a double agenda.I would also like to remind all you fruitloops that BW has a proven track record of doing gay relationships very poorly. Let's review:
Any odder than Alistair loving a Warden who can be both a complete nutcase and tramp or a paragon of justice and virtue? Rarely are we given much exposition on why someone is attracted to you, other than your "strong" personality and good looks.Juhani: I don't like men and by default I am gay for you because you didn't kill me off, female Revan.
Couldn't say, never romanced him as a guy.Sky: I used to have a wife and a daughter, and usually I'm not into dudes, but I'm totally gay for you all of a sudden. Thanks for hitting on me so much, use that tactic on straight guys in real life and see what happens.
And this made the romance bad and the relationship less than fulfilling?Liara: Because my people don't have an actual gender, us having sex isn't all the way gay, just kinda gay.
And had he been straight, that would have made it a good romance? Or do you think it doesn't work because he's bi as well as sexually aggressive and loose? I would disagree that his sexuality had anything to do with the quality of the relationship, rather than you not liking his character. Many others did.Zevran: I bang men as well as women, and probably small animals, and anything that has a hole in it, and I'd really like to bang you, that syphillitic drunken dwarf, the giant family murderer, and every woman in the party regardless of their age, stupid religious beliefs, psychosis or being made out of stone.
And it's not like everyone just loved the straight Aerie or Anomen or Carth. You can't please everyone with a romance interest. Tastes differ, sorry.

well, while we wait for a confirmation, can we just speculate on what the same-sex romancables will be like?
maybe rogues again, but a mage seductress would be refreshing... yeah, i'm one of those who were disappointed morrigan was not romancable... edit: same-sex romancable i mean...

Yeah. If Hawke can choose Woman A, B, or C, I don't see why it is that big a stretch to let him have a relationship with Man A, B or C. Or vice versa for a female Hawke. Why his/her sexuality has to be set in stone even though we can choose pretty much everything else about him/her is just baffling.
Exactly. I love BioWare, but I was pretty disgusted by that excuse for Shepard. "Oh, Shepard isn't gay for men. He's too predefined, and pretty much his own character. She's occasionally gay for women, if she's a girl. You see the difference. It's not as gay if you're a chick. :wizard:"
