About mods, I'm currently playing through the Morrigan/FemWarden romance mod and I quite like it, even though it's an originally intended hetero-only romance. Sure, there are a few pronoun goof ups, but I can live with that.

And yes, I enjoyed Zevran. (And Leliana, if it matters) I didn't think he was too stereotypical at all, I appreciated his humour and blah blah blah.

I'm just hoping for one or two bi options of each gender.

   I know there's a bit of a stigma against console gamers but I promise, we're not all bad! And I'd really like to be able to have same sex romance options too please!!

I have DA:O on console too. I just prefer the PC version so I can get same-sex romance mods and others.



If there happens to be no same-sex romances in DA2, I'm sure someone will come up with a mod for them on release day, and I will most likely be downloading it.

I just dont want every companion, (other than sister bethany) to be romancable to either gender, if some are pure gay, bi or straight it's all good. Just want that "I want, can't have" feeling to some of it.

Personally, as a gaymer, I hated Zevran because his gay romance seemed much weaker than his straight one. All of his serious past romances were females and he only mentions his male romances in passing or as a joke, which just made Zevran seemed catered more towards the straight gamers rather than the gaymers. However, I found Leliana's gay romance to be beautifully written and much more fulfilling than Zevran's. Of course, this is just my personal opinion since a lot of other gaymers actually did like Zevran.

If such romance is possible, I hope normal gamers are not subjected to it like in first DA. Now I always kill Zevran because it's sickening that he makes passes at my male character when I am straight in real life.

The way I approach Bioware games is "I hope they're (gay romances) in the game, but they probably won't be."



That way, I get to be pleasantly surprised instead of becoming disappointed and even more cynical.

Yea me too, I hated that.  I was trying to be nice and ended up in a romance with him as a male warden.  Morrigan and Leliana were all like " I didn't know you were into other men".  I was like wtf.  So now I'm just extremely mean to Zevran to avoid him going gay.

You did a great job of summing up my biggest problem with Zevran, but I didn't like Leliana as a romance option, either.  I thought her character was interesting, but because she was a facetious sociopath with a borderline multiple personality disorder.  People who think she's cute and cuddly aren't getting the subtext, and are straight up brushing off things like her outright admitting that she's killed people after having sex with them.  I don't like that when people point to gay icons in gaming, it's all prison textbook Freud.

This is of course a healthy and normal reaction for someone to have. You can get around the Zevran romance as either sex by him making one (fairly innocent) comment and you shooting him down, and tada! friend-zoned. Having such a strong reaction to even that sounds a tad excessive.

My male warden thought the killing after sex was hawt and encouraged that behavior. lol

Eh. Zevran is a female-leaning bisexual. He states as much when you ask. As such, it makes sense that he's been with more women than men. And he's only had one 'serious' romance before you, and by the end of your romance it's pretty clear that he loves the Warden way more than he ever loved Rinna.

I personally suspect that the reason why they had Sky and Zevran both "lean" towards the female sex has to do with the lesser acceptance/tolerance of male homosexuality in society. Bioware is taking baby steps.
