Hello. This is a thread to show Bioware that if they ever consider bringing the Warden back after DA2, that we would welcome the decision with open arms.

This started after the announcements about the upcoming "Witch Hunt" DLC, which resulted in much speculation, and many continuing questions about the fate of Morrigan, the fate of the Warden, and the fate of their passionate romance (if that romance path was chosen). Chris Priestly recently posted in the official Witch Hunt thread, teasing a minute possibility of a Warden appearance

So for now, this thread is to show support for such a decision if it ever came to be.

Post here if you support bringing the Warden back for future Dragon Age sequels!

:wizard:Hey people !

Alright, although I'm very excited about playing Hawke (or Lady hawke =p ) in Dragon Age 2, I'd be really happy about much apperances or at least references of my Warden (and i'm sure we're a lot), in the sequels, so I support this thread too ^_^!

Go bioware:bandit:

I hope SweetPetunia86 and Valandil get here soon. I gave them the links, too.

I would go crazy if I found out a year from now that we would be resuming our journeys in DA3 or something as our Wardens again, maybe as allies or enemies of Hawke :D

Ah there you are! :D Welcome. I think a thread is a good start. If there is a good number of people after a few weeks, however, I might make a group.

Either way...

"Oh Maker, if you have not left us, as Leliana claims, please, PLEASE, influence Bioware to feature a playable or at least major appearance for the Warden in a future Dragon Age sequel."

Maker's will be done

And for those who romanced Morrigan, let those Wardens be with their true love for life!

And let there be meaningful interactions between Morrigan and the female Warden in the future, whether they're still friends or are now enemies.

btw GardenSnake, I like your banner. It is somewhat comical, very ironic, and at the same time depressing and a reminder why we need to make our voices heard.

I don't agree...

If it is an expansion for the game in which the original character was created I agree.

If it is a new game you have new characters.

You're entitled to your opinion, Rvlion, but I, as well as the other posters, disagree because the Warden was brought up for a meaningful purpose, and even though the Warden slays the Archdemon, there is still more we feel the Warden could do. I personally believe there is much potential for DA3 if Hawke and the Warden appear, especially if they're pitted against eachother. Depending on who you choose, you could potentially have created your hardest enemy.

Now if Bioware is giving us new protagonists for each installment, well that's just sad and too much like Bethesda games...

A new games with new characters are ideas I agree with. However, the Warden can be a quest giver or an important person in the future Dragon Ages. I really am fine if I don't get to play with my Warden again. That does not bother me. I just wanted her end to be going in the Deep Roads with her beloved Alistair. Something epic like that. Of course add in a badassed fight with some emotional dialogue. I don't what her story to end with Morrigan's ass. I mean...seriously. I don't even care about that damn kid like that. Screw that kid. Big ups for savin me though.

I'm here as well :D

Hmm...I agree with PureMethodActor, I don't think the Warden's quest is over (although we haven't played Witch Hunt yet, obviously), but, according to Chris Priestly tease, there MAY BE a possibility of our Wardens coming back.

Hey everyone. I thought yesterday about a cool discussion topic for this thread while we wait for more people to support us. Heres the topic:

If Bioware announced the return of the Warden in a future installment of Dragon Age, how would you like the Warden to return and what scenario would you like to see played out?

I'll start. So if the Warden was reported to return to Dragon Age in a future installment, I think the most ideal sequel would be in Dragon Age 3, as Dragon Age 2 is only on a 10-year lifespan. Since the Grey Warden's purpose is to serve the people of Thedas, according to Wynne, it would be cool to see the Warden hear rumors about goings-on in the Free Marches, and when going to investigate, encounters Hawke. From here, depending on major choices in both games, they could either start out as allies or enemies. The Flemeth connection can come up, even Hawke's status as Flemeth's son (as rumored in other threads), and Hawke and the Warden become allies throughout the course of the game while dealing with the issues of Morrigan's OGB or her other plans, if OGB wasn't created.
Now the following bit I had in my mind may be completely nullified by "Witch Hunt" depending on how that plays out: Morrigan comes to the Warden, either in person in private or in dreams periodically, and this can be expanded if the warden had a romance. Eventually, how I had it in my head, the end game would be Hawke and the Warden, along with whatever party members they had, confronting Morrigan, and it is there that she offers the Warden another choice, stand ground as a loyal Grey Warden and fight Morrigan or join her (and her OGB, if it exists), kill the other companions, and join the Dragon Cult (which could have a similar initiation as the joining) in either a ruling of an empire in Thedas or even an assault on the Maker and the Black City, successfully doing what the ancient Tevinter Mages failed to do. Morrigan, if romanced could appeal to the Warden's love and make it sound like a choice between family and duty. If the Warden chooses Morrigan, Hawke would stand against them, and could survive the battle, setting up for a grudge-match in DA4 or something. If the Warden chooses duty, then... I guess somehow Hawke can be manipulated through the bloodlines to go against the Warden.

I know the idea as I presented it is flawed and nonsensical. I'd have to think about it more to refine it, but the general idea is this: give Morrigan the chance to corrupt the Warden or Hawke and make him/her an antagonist in a future game. How awesome would that be: YOU created a future main boss? I think just that simple idea is cool and pretty revolutionary (Diablo II had a similar twist at the beginning with the hero of the first becoming Diablo, but that character data didn't transfer over at all)

Anyway, what are your ideas, everyone?

...there is no way the Warden is going to move onto DA2. How do you suppose that is possible with a new engine? They would have to make every Warden look exactly like they do in Origins... Have you people even thought this through?

@night0205 pretty much all of us have accepted that the Warden is not going to be in DA2, fyi.

What is this? An apperance of your warden?
I would rather hear tales of his/her exploits. I think it would be good if you were updated on your wardens travels following the DLC timline in relation to DA2, and then heard of what eventually happened to the warden 10 years on.

So your warden is known at first and could be eventually forgotton and everything you hear is based on choices in the previous game, aswell as the world and characters being effected by your wardens choices atleast the world early on in the game before hawke? starts making an impact, you could possibly have some interaction with your warden but you wouldn't want he/she to be given a voice...

I, for one, actually wouldn't mind my warden having a voice if it was necessary (my theory is "better to have a voice for your warden then to see him/her gone forever"). Besides, I think for each race/gender combination there could be a different voice actor, so that elves, dwarves, and humans sound different.

I just think it would be awesome to have a sort of ~50 year history of the DA world spread over a bunch of games each effected by choices in the previous game so your sort of creating this world and then playing stories within it later on. So possibly 50 years on that old long gone wardens legacy still lives in the hearts and minds on the people of Ferelden.

I think it is a good start PureMethod. Ideas gotta start somewhere. Look. Personally as I have said before, I don't ever have to play with the Warden again. She could be a quest giver in a future Dragon Age. My Warden was Queen, so it would be useless for her to be running around still trying to fight with the Blight ended. Unless of course there was another evil to be fought. Plus I thought that she would go with Alistair into the Deep Roads when her time came. To everyone that thinks that the Warden's story needs to end because Bioware would not be able to keep up with everyone story; I think you are wrong. Bioware created beautiful stories and dialogue for each story. I think that a proper ending for each Warden is not impossible. I was rather hoping that I could ask Morrigan to help me concieve. Think I have said that one already. Maybe I am biased because I wasn't THAT into Morrigan. Please don't end this **** here(with the Witch Hunt DLC, I mean).

Hmmm...
I don't think I would like to fight against my Warden, after all the time we've shared. (But to be the creators of a powerful boss is a rather cool idea, indeed).
Maybe in Witch Hunt he'll be reunited with Morrigan, and his quest will be (for now) over. I like to think that he'll stay with her and his newborn son/daughter, but certainly, adventure will call him again soon enough, and maybe he'll become an ally of Hawke. It would be really AWESOME to see him and Hawke in DA3, or any future expansion, and to end the series with a full circle, I hope that my Warden goes to his Calling, or dies in a somewhat peaceful manner, in the arms of Morrigan, perhaps (while this song plays in the background).

@Valandil- I think the number of players who agree with you on your idea of future Warden stuff is more than either of us could come up with. I personally would accept with open arms your version to the Warden's ending if it were so :).

Also, the song you linked to... that and the other version are among my favorite songs in the soundtrack! I purposely go to the credits once before I play just to hear this song (though that isn't for a while since I'm taking a break from DAO [I was frustrated with a mistake I made with one of my wardens and I was too frustrated to continue])

@Petunia- I agree with your overall stance about the story of the Grey Warden, besides me wanting to play as the warden again :). I just think that restricting the Warden's physical presence in Dragon Age to just one game is kind of a letdown, since the Warden had the potential to change things not only in Ferelden (which is one nation but an influential one no doubt), but in big changes as well in Orzammar. Someone who ends a blight, possibly changed the way mages, dwarves, and the line of succession to the Ferelden throne work, has already done some world-changing things, and to disappear without a trace? WAY too Revan-like.

Thats basically the other point I want to make to those who are against the Warden being in another title: Those who want the Warden back after DA2 KNOW that the Warden realistically couldn't or shouldn't be in EVERY Dragon Age title (at least I hope they know). I think thats one misconception naysayers have against those who want the Warden. The argument we present is that, whether as a playable character or a major ally/quest-giver, the Warden should have a physical presence in a future DA title because of the tremendous influence the Warden has had in Thedas (as mentioned above, influenced one human nation which is well-known and could influence others), as well as the respect the Warden has from allies during the Blight.

I personally say this: Just one more major title appearance by the Warden the DA series is all I need before my Wardens go off to their callings :D

I am with you all the way. You could not have said it better. The Warden was way to influential during Origins. To end her/his story in the Wilds seems like a waste to me.

To put it simply: /signed.

I am sure the technology is there for them to feature our Wardens either as a PC or an NPC in DA2 and its DLCs and expansions. I would love if we could meet ourselves as Hawke, or even get to play us again.

My main Warden was in his early 20s... so at the end of DA2, he will be in his 30s. I would like to see what became of him.

It would be amazing if the warden can reappear, it would make the game that much more enjoyable!
