@Puremethodactor:

I have to say, I was impressed by your ideas of a return of the warden and how it would play out.

Very ambitious.

I think it would be cool if, like, in Dragon Age II, you get to see the Warden walking through Lothering. It would only really work if you imported a character, but...

Anyway, I'm here!

I dont care about morrigan but points on either brinign back the grey warden or hearing about them in a book or gossip really like to know what my warden and Alistair got up to as king and queen so you have my vote

Ahh ic... yeah, I'm a little nervous too, to be honest. All I can do is hope for the best and that's what I'm doing. I've put off other Xbox Live downloads to save for this, so I hope its worth it.

Some more food for thought:

Wynne says in a conversation about Grey Wardens that the primary function of the Grey Warden is to "serve". They are supposed to serve all peoples and all countries. Wynne leaves it right there, without saying that Grey Wardens serve only during times of blight.

So based on what she said, they're like Jedi Knights who serve many functions to help the Republic. The only difference here is that the Grey Wardens will not shy away from the darker path if its necessary for the good of Thedas.

Based on that, the Warden should have more involvement in one more title besides Dragon Age Origins. There are many things besides a blight and darkspawn that could occupy the attention of the Grey Wardens.

You're entitled to your opinion, Rvlion, but I, as well as the other posters, disagree because the Warden was brought up for a meaningful purpose, and even though the Warden slays the Archdemon, there is still more we feel the Warden could do. I personally believe there is much potential for DA3 if Hawke and the Warden appear, especially if they're pitted against eachother. Depending on who you choose, you could potentially have created your hardest enemy.

Now if Bioware is giving us new protagonists for each installment, well that's just sad and too much like Bethesda games...

Yes, I imagined this as a scenario as well a while back. Part 3, in which you get to fight yourself.

Of course, it would require a really smart piece of coding to have the 'others' AI match your own style of play but there are ways ( again using framed narratives ) that it could be done successfully.

So I guess we have fairly good news. Despite a major glitch (which can still be avoided), Witch Hunt was good, in my opinion. Morrigan romancers (such as myself) are happy, and one of the most important parts...

The Warden didn't die! His/Her plotline is still open for post-DA2 involvement :D

at least that is what is implied from the various endings, and what Morrigan says.

So whether its here or other threads, lets keep support going for a post-DA2 Warden appearance!

I don't know for sure how big of a possibility that is, since, from what I gathered with Gaider's PAX chats and other devs chiming in, that the Warden isn't completely done, story-wise. I'm pretty sure, based on whats been hinted, that the Warden will have an equal role to play once the story of DA2 is done. Afterall, the Warden's main influence is in a totally different area from Hawke's area of influence.

Anyway I'm with you, and I hope I'm right in my guessing.

To the topic:Sign !!!!!!

I belong to the elder generation, played pen and paper fantasy, have nearly more than 600 fantasy books. My first pc fantasy game was the Hobbit at the commodore 64. I played all Bioware fantasy games.

In my opinion the stoy of my grey warden isn´t finished.

Gonna invade your thread here a second . . .

There's been some talk about a possible show-down between Hawke and the Warden. While that would be cool on a lot of levels, how cruel would that be? I bet almost anything that every person (including me!) who wants the Warden to return is going to fall in love with their Hawke. How can you choose between two different facets of yourself? Two equally beloved characters?

What I think would be cool is if several games taking place in different parts of Thedas during roughly the same timeframe were setting up a single (or several) grand events that all take place in a final game. Like the Blight in Ferelden, Hawke's goings-on in the Free Marches, and two or three other things bringing about this colossal End.

And of course the Warden features in that. It sorta feels at this point like if that was the case, s/he got the ball rolling.

About the topic, though, I would love for the Warden to come back, but I really think it's not happening. And if I had to fight her?

So cruel. Cruel, cruel, cruel.

But you're bound to at least have your actions mentioned in the next game, several times, I'm hoping. And I guess because a "up to the very last second of the Warden's life ending" is not given, I'll just make mine up. Which is fine, because it's sure to be just what I want. ;)

Signs, Hawke copied Duncan's epic beard plus the DA game play seems to be leaning towards Mass Effect type length and game play.

The Warden should have an appearance it could work off of the import your choices into DA2 bit.

Maybe...

@SgtElias, Well I am one of the ones that promotes a showdown between Warden and Hawke, but I also promote the idea of them becoming allies. I figure it all depends on which warden's info you import per Hawke, and I truly believe that while some people wouldn't be able to choose, in the end it would make for great storytelling, so I don't see how other than a PC dilemma how it could be a bad thing.

On your other point, that Warden appearance is unlikely: This thread was made under the assumption of that, and the strong supporters acknowledge the strong possibility that the Warden is gone. After all, no one in Bioware has confirmed or denied future Warden involvement and all we have are teaser statements from Gaider, Priestly, and a couple others. The goal is that if this thread gets enough posters, our wishes could at least be noticed and our opinion considered.

MAD WHITE HAM Wrote

"Well I have some good news in my opinion. While searching the BIOWARE forums I noticed that multiple individuals have said David Gaider (Lead Writer for ALL THINGS Dragon Age) confirmed that the Warden's Storyline was OVER/DONE. I of course panicked because I still wanted to play my Warden at least one last time. Naturally, I searched the forum for this supposed quote... I found nothing. I then asked the people who quoted him where they found the quote... they did not reply... So Finally I emailed Mr Gaider himself and this was the email I sent him:

Dear Mr Gaider,

First, thanks for all your Hard Work... I loved DAO and DAA. A question... you have been quoted as saying the Warden's Story is completely over from people on these forums. However I cannot find that quote anywhere online and people who have quoted you won't reveal their source. Did you say it or are people misinterpreting your words?

Again thank you for your work... looking forward to seeing more of it. Dragon Age is great.

MAD WHITE HAM

HIS REPLY:

I said that DA2's story is not about the Warden. I assume people are extrapolating from that, as no-- I've never said the Warden's story is completely over.

Dave

Now this doesn't CONFIRM more Warden Time but it does CONFIRM he/she isn't over. Who knows... maybe there will be another expansion pack coming out before DA2. Maybe the Warden is going to be implemented into DA3 because of the community uproar pertaining to his/her absence from the main story thread in DA2. This does get me hopeful for more expansion packs in the Dragon Age Origins Universe"
