Thought this was interesting. Has some dev commentary.

Now we know what happened to the inventory in ME2...

Good article and true

RPG was a dirty word for many years and I think it still is to many. Which is why we hear Action-RPG. Shooter with RPG elements

The youngsters dont want to play a pure RPG so they try to blend things that imo simply do not fit well togather and end up bastardizing the term RPG.

That was interesting about Poland being more influenced by Warhammer. Didnt know that, I always assumed D&D was world wide, not just western based.

I still think pure RPGs (DA:O for example) do sell when done right. LOL, one of my biggest complaints about The Witcher was its inventory system truth be told and im hoping they go more traditional RPG for The Witcher 2.

As for combat, its a shame kids today dont have the patience for Turn Based RPG combat. The most fun I ever had in a MMO PVP was Neverwinter Nights (1991 on AOL) which was based off the old Gold Box Games. That was turn based but you had a fairly quick timer (for those days as modum speeds were much slower) to keep it moving. PVP was far more tactical and stratigic then anything you get today in the twitch games PVP.

Ahhhh the good ol days! Ahh well, I have the Witcher which is almost traditional RPG, Deus Ex3 looks like they returning to their RPG roots of story first, and TOR is very story heavy. RPGs are not dead quite yet and there always seems to be a new one coming out to replace any that disappear.

Still nothing quite as fun as 6 freinds playing D&D (any version) for a night!
