I apologize if this was brought up before. But in Dragon Age Origins, Sten did tell the Warden that the Qunari are indeed planning for an invasion. If he respects you well enough, he also said that if he ever found you on the battlefield, he would not engage you in combat.

So since we already know the guy Hawke is fighting is some kind of Qunari Leader, i was just wondering if Sten would make an appearance.

I would hope so; I had a serious bromance with that guy!

Anyway, does anyone know the elapsed time between DA and DA2?

Gaider pretty much said no.

He said sten would face a lengthy interrogation because of contamination with the outside.

He did not clarify if this was a joke nor how lengthy, lengthy is.

At the end of Origins, Sten insists that he owes you one. If the trailer alludes to Qunari possibly playing a large role in DA2, then it would be a waste of narrative not to have him pay you (the player, that is) back in some way. Sten is also the character that changes the most in my opinion, and it would be interesting to see what values he takes back to his people.

That said, with the visual change of the Qunari, a Sten cameo would be terribly messy and inconsistent, as would really any cameo from Origins.

They are kind of concurrent. DA2 starts when Lothering is destroyed but then goes on for 10 years after that, which is of course after Origins and Awakening end.

As to Sten...maybe? I'd like to see him again for sure. Too bad there's nothing stopping him from attacking Hawke.

It's entirely possible depending on the purpose of the Qunari in the trailer. Did the Qunari represent an invasion force? If so, we might expect to meet Sten on the frontlines.

extended trailer shows the qunari downing hundreds of guards alone....may just be an assassin....

Well, the devs keep using him as an example of "if" an Origins character appears so and so....

He's doing a rather shoddy job at being an Assassin, then.

Less an assassin, more of a wrecking ball.

Shame he was never a love interest. I always pictured him making a cute couple with my female Aeducan. She would be carried and cradeled in his arms and get piggybacks on his shoulders. Posted Image

He's playing Splinter Cell or Assassin's Creed Dave-of-Canada style. Running through the enemies, killing them while yelling "INFILTRATION!" at the top of my lungs as everybody knows where I am and try to kill me. That one mission where you have to stay stealthed and to not alert anybody just happened to be the hardest for me.

I always melted at his feet when he said, "I don't understand. You look like a woman." Posted Image

I tend to do that too if I get overexcited in stealth games. I go into a berserker mode and run around like a crazy person who doesn't believe in defense. This lasts until I get mobbed by a zillion dudes and die or I kill em all and (barely) survive.

What's funny is stealth-based games are some of my all-time favorites. *shrug*

An assassin....just kills as effectively to his or her ability...and kills certain targets....I would say he did a good job.....
I also had a problem with stealth near the end of AC2 and AC.
Combat was so easy in AC...and quite boring in AC2.....hidden knife counter kills is just too good.If you can get the timing right.

My love of playing rogues/assassins is often contradicted by my love of running around frantically, assassinating everything in my path and failing to be inconspicuous. Posted Image

If you kill every single person...then no one can say they saw you commit the crime....

Some qunari simply do not have horns.

Honestly I think he'd still be recognizable. He still wouldn't have horns, would probably still have the white cornrows, and his skin would probably still be bronze (the writers have said Qunari come in different skin colors). His face and build would be different but his voice would be the same. I wouldn't mind if he had the "ashen" skintone, though. I like the look of it.

Let's just jam as many Qunari as possible into all future DA games. <3

I'm hoping for a brief cameo during an intensely emotional scene for Hawke, where he leans in breaking the fourth wall with a wink and blows a kiss.
