Yeah, you never know if them Bioware guys are joking or not sometimes. Mary Kirby is the most guilty here 

I think that part was serious. Sten would need to be questioned and debriefed thoroughly, but it doesn't necessarily mean we'll never see him again. I mean it wasn't a veiled reference to having him executed or anything. He'd probably go back to being a Sten again eventually.

It's weird but I just keep liking Sten more and more as time goes on. I'm not even playing the game anymore regularly. Maybe it's Mary's doing, with all her interesting Qunari-related posts.

This is true.
But, then again, as long as you put an in-game piece of dialogue about why he lacks horns and make him a combo of his DA:O look and DA2 Qunari (in other words, leave his basic facial structure intact, but make his skin a bit more grey and make his neck/shoulders thicker)... I think it would work and people could suspend their disbelief that it's the same character despite slightly different outward looks.

I found this where we can see some characters from dao in da2 including my beloved sten (without horns thank god) so I think he will definitely appear.

(I don't know solona and elissa, are they from awakening?)

Those are poorly modded characters with anime syndrome in DAO not DA2. Threads a few months old seriously need to be automatically locked without constant and recent replies

Sten is a character who can never really die, as the closest that he can come to death is being left in the cage at Lothering. An appearance is likely, no matter what Bioware say.

To the OP:  I asked Sten about it, here's what he had to say:

If Sten appears in the game, it would probably be as a Boss or Enemy. Hawke will probably end up killing Sten if he does show up in the game. Werent the Qunari invading at some point in the game?...Ya.

1) dev's confirmed months ago that Sten is in no way, shape, or form in DA2. (referring specifically to Sten the companion from DAO, not any other Stens)

2) will someone please lock this useless necro thread?
