I guess the name says it all, but let me elaborate. I know that dual-wielding Adjatha with Belm will result in higher damage, especially considering that I would have 10 attacks/round with Imp. Haste active. In the same vein, that would give me 7 attacks/round if I were to use Lilarcor. It boils down to ten hits of 1d8 +2 versus seven hits of 1d10 +3; basic math tells you what you need to know.

Now since I have never played a fighter/mage in any form beyond 2.5 million, I'm not in any position to really decide whether two-handed weapons will come in handy. I know the SotM is a really good weapon; it helped my sorcerer to no end. But is it vital for a fighter/mage who would just as well whack away with two weapons? I'm sure the invisibility will come in handy, but the basic question is how does SotM fit into the berserker/mage gist of things? Can I do without it, or are the insta-hide and Spell Trap too sweet to pass up?

Just so that you guys know, I plan to hit Watcher's Keep before leaving for Brynnlaw, so if I go two weapon my main combo will be Angurvadal and Belm with Stormstar for blunt damage. If I go two-handed weapon then it'll be Dragon's Breath halberd (once I get it in the UD) or Impaler spear with Staff of the Magi on the side. And I guess Staff of the Ram as well.

You could use Namarra +2 which is 1d8+4 for higher damage.  Don't forget that SotM has dispel on hit just like Carsomyr.  That's truly handy to get rid of stoneskins/fireshields/etc. in one hit.

Edit:  Oh, and how are you getting 7 APR with lilarcor?  Are you using the true grandmastery patch?

Wow that dispel on hit aspect just completely escaped me, I think my decision's made now for sure especially since I won't have to dabble in halberd proficiency to make use of the Dragon's Breath. And yes, I do have the TGM patch. 2 base attacks + 1.5 from grandmastery.

Edit: Adjatha was just an example. The only long swords I plan on using are Daystar, Dragonslayer, and Blackrazor.

Don't forget either that the weapon damage is not the only damage you're getting. A real fighter has at least strength 18, and if you don't, use the level 2 spell (then there's belts and other stuff, too). Once you've added that and the proficiency bonus, the difference between the two damage numbers has shrunk drastically in significance and the superior APR wins the price.
