For one thing, you get to know about the childhood, this is troubling.  Since if I was mage, I would be in a tower and probably not know or remember who my parents/family were.  I hope they won't forget that little fact. I also got the impression in DA:O that letting a mage leave the tower and wander freely was not something the chantry would do.  I had to be recruited in to the Gray Wardens, if not, the chantry would not let me leave ever, I would be trapped there for the rest of my life, so how did Hawk escape?  Seems like a plot hole developing here.

Hawke's sister Bethany is already known to be an apostate. Likely if you make Hawke a mage, you'll grow up as an apostate too. Not really a plot hole.

Anyhow as the OP: you're entitled to your opinion about the game. I will respectfully disagree with it. I will buy the game and I'm pretty certain I will enjoy it. Nothing I've seen has shown me that DA2 is moving away from BioWare's roots or that it will be very different from DA:O aside from a new dialogue delivery system. The changes I've seen appear to be improvements to things that could use improving.

rofl really?  I never really cared about crap like that.  I just buy games I think I'll like and I don't buy games I don't think I'll like.

Seeing as its being rushed to the market and retooled to be as much of a hack and slash as the engine will support, hell no. While I appreciate a good ol' Diablo clone, trying to make one on DA:Os engine=Epic fail.

Talk about hyperbole...

If I've been able to safe up enough money to buy a new computer before March, then yes I will buy it. Otherwise I'll have just have to try and wait patiently until I can afford a computer. But definitely buying the game.

I guess a better question would be: How entertaining would the game have to be for you to buy it?  Or will you simply not buy it because of the oft-mentioned gameplay changes, despite other things it might do well, because you're philosophically opposed to said gameplay changes?  Even if no other game exists on the market that will give you a similar experience?

Did my original statement not answer this?  It's not a question of entertainment.  It's a matter of principle

A good game is a good game, no matter what the gameplay mechanics.

Of course, if it gets pathetic review scores across the board, I'll give it a miss. Although considering Bioware's track record, I find that unlikely.

Garrett's in it. Of course I'm buying it.

But in all seriousness, most of what I've heard about DA2, I like. Whereas some people hate the dialogue wheel and a voiced PC, I loved them in ME. The personality tracker sounds intriguing and I'm very curious about how the framed narrative will ultimately play out.

I might change my mind, of course. We haven't seen any gameplay vids yet, though at this point I doubt anything in them could be so mind-shattering as to make me reconsider. But who knows, months from now I could be eating my words. :)

Of course not, I regularly indulge my time on forums, for a game which I have no interest in purchasing or enjoying...

Sure, but we're headed down a path where all games are essentially the same because publishers will only greenlight games with mass market appeal and apparently, the only thing that appeals to the mass market  is bright lights, loud noises, and pretty colors.  I cannot knowingly support the homogenization of a form of entertainment that I have so enjoyed for so long especially at the cost of Bioware... long the developer who did things a different way than everyone else.

pfft, you will ALL end up buying it anyway. No matter how many excuses you make up, and no matter how much you wine you always get it. Unless your broke ofcourse.

Some people said Alistair Whined to much...lol, they should look at themselves first. We hardly know anything about it, but people would make the TINIEST detail, the INSIGNIFICANT piece, just to have an excuse to hate the game that hasn't even been shown yet? Or do you think the game is going to be based around a Qunari, a cool Beard, chest hair and Flemeth? Are you true Bioware fans? Because if you are you should have just a little bit of faith in them.

Same here. I missed out on the chance to get the Origins CE, which I now seriously regret. For the amount of hours Origins has given me, it is worth the money. I have more or less made a vow with myself to always buy CE copies of whatever game BioWare is making in the future. Perhaps it's me being a fanboy, but their work has given me countless hours of joy and relaxation.

Yes, but waiting for the Collector's Edition to be announced. I remember in the original DA:O, I was annoyed that I pre-ordered before that was announced.

I was never worried about this game.

When information finally came out and we were given an actual character and had this large epic story about that character's life? I couldn't, and still can't, wait for this game to come out.

I will buy it.

I will buy it opening week and I will enjoy it.

I won't know for sure until it comes out because, hey, maybe everything I've heard and seen is wrong, or will change, but it becomes less likely every day. It's pretty unlikely right now. I might buy it if the levels are in the same format and can be brought into the DA:O toolkit, just for the extra locations, or if companions I like show up, just to have the dialogue for mods. If the animations are compatible, that might get me to buy it, too.
