I'll wait for far more info before deciding. I'll confess though, that I was extremely worried about the game but the more I read about it, the more my worries are allayed.
I'm surprised you commented. There's already a thread with a poll. Shouldn't you, like, close this one... or the other one?

Anyone else wonder if the DA2 story line is the reason human commoner was cut from DA:O? The reason I ask is that would have been the preferred origin for me in DA:O had it existed, and one of the reasons I'm excited about DA2 is this seems to be similar to the path Hawke takes from what we've heard so far.

Garrett's in it. Of course I'm buying it.
That part was a joke. I wouldn't shell out money for the sole reason there's a person/pixels I find aesthetically pleasing in it.
I mean, come on, what do you think I am? A Twilight fangirl?

That always confused me, with Dwarves having both Noble/Commoner, but you make an excellent point as to why. I too wanted to play a Human Commoner, so I'm looking forward to playing DA2.

Didn't you know, this game is going to bring about the apocalypse and destroy the world.Dynamomark wrote...
I will buy it, unless it's the end of the world.
And yes I am supporting the death of human kind, I have mine pre-ordered. And on the console no less… ooo the shame.

I have blind faith in Bioware, call me naive if you will, but so far Bioware has not dissapointed me.
I think this game will be an epic RPG.
The plot we know so far is that we will play as Hawke, Champion of Kirwall, in the Free Marches and that we´ll have to struggle for power in order te become a fair ruler or a despote, all that in a time span of ten years.
So my guess is that Hawke will be some sort of King Calenhad who will unite the Free marches under his banner.
Think of all the things he will have to do in order to achieve that goal, fight some poeople, ally with other, ect, and specially the consequences of those actions (and that´s the way Bioware shines I think).
Isn´t that a real RPG plot?
As for the lack of races I can only say that this is the story of Hawke and he is human, as Kings Calenhad, Maric and later Alistair were. Nobody complained about Ferelden being ruled by a human.
In fact you couldn´t marry Alistar or Anora unless you were human and noble.
My only concern is about the new visuals and the hardware neded. I wouldn´t like to spend $ 400-500 in a new graphics card to play a $ 60-70 game but that´s just me.

The info that's been revealed in articles and leaked by devs on these forums has me pretty stoked for DA2. It's sad to see some people not support the sequel but you can't please everybody.

Total agreement here. But I will not get on release as I have severe doubts about BW/EA recently going all mainstream. Rather than sticking to what it did best IE western RPG games. Rather than Halo wannabees.

Even then, I'd buy it. I still played Alpha Protocol even though the game was considered worse than sin. It was an enjoyable experience when I went into it with no expectations.
