 I hope it turns out good. If it sucks it will be hilarious cause Bioware just started up the franchise and then they **** up on the second one cause they wanted to try some new things.

I will buy it, and yes, I'm an old-school RPG fan (however, I'm not one of those elitist RPG gamer-types). As for the "issue" over a mage actually having a childhood that doesn't involve being locked up in a Circle tower for the whole of their young lives::

• Refer to Codex about apostates and/or hedge mages and/or Tevinter magisters, etc. Not all mages are controlled by the Templars and Chantry.
• I imagine there might actually be families in which ALL family-members have magical abilities. They might, oh, try to hide and pretend to be normal in order to avoid notice.
• Some parents might actually love their children enough to not view them as dangerous monsters to be sent off to the Circle.
• Oh yes: there are mage factions that believe in freedom (refer to the DA:O Codex about the various groups)

It's not outside the realm of possibility for a mage to have a mostly non-horrible childhood - just saying.

Definitely getting it.. I'm a fan of Dragon Age and Mass Effect games, so whatever they release I'll just take it. Including all their DLCs. The only DLC i didn't get is the appearance pack. So yes, even if Dragon Age 2 doesn't live up to expectations, I'll still get it.

your kidding right. you honestly will not buy it because of reviews before the game is finished. i think you will change your mind, i will buy it because its a new game...i played DAO already, even an expansion...i really wouldn't mind something different. better than 50 more DLC

As far as playing an elf (dalish) in DA: Origins, there will be some reactions to this, a merchant will notice that you're an elf, Leliana will have a nice long conversation with you, and part of the conversation in the Dalish Camp will change if you're playing one yourself. There also minor instances in the game where people react to you if you're an (Dalish) elf.



As for buying DA2, I think, I'll wait for review and maybe untill it's on sale as well....

For me its like "the more information they release" the less i want the game. Will the game be "good"? Yes it will sell **** lots. Will i buy it? Errrr maybe if it drop in price.
