So a lot of people have been asking me what is different about Aventia 3 Merged compared to its’ predecessors, and contemporaries? Well a lot actually besides the obvious of the merger.

Some of the highlights are:
-Post Epic Level (PEL) ability bonuses which was inspired by ROT2 in NWN2. Now players can continue to gain ability points past level 40 in addition to our existing post 40 system. Which basically means AB, AC, DC’s, and post 40 damage are all uncapped now, along with having other effects for players.
-Ability to take subraces. While not fully integrated yet (still a WIP), they are available as a QP or GP purchase.
-Ability to bank (transfer) experience from any toon that has reached level 40, so that players can still get some use out of time spent on failed builds.
- And a lot more. Best way to check out some of the additional differences is to view the group, or see for your self in game:
New content is being added often, and as always community contributed content is very much welcome!

Yep, Aventia has had babies. We look alike on the surface, but if you look close we are quite different. I will be holding some DM events and Quests this weekend on Aventia 3 Merged if there are enough players so it's a perfect opportunity for new and old players to get some QP, and check things out.

Id just like too say what a nice friendly and interesting server this is,fun too play on with a nice bunch of reguler players that are willing too help and explain things.

It's nice to see some returning players, and some new faces as well. I am glad people have been enjoying Aventia 3 Merged, It has come along way since launch.

I see HOC still does that thing where it resets just after you've dropped a load of gear to transfer to another character.

Was that on Aventia 3 Merged, or the other version AventiaG? Send me a PM if it was on Av3, and I can restore your toon. If it was on AvG, you should get in touch with Grench.

Turns out this was my mistake. I restarted the server when I saw no one was on, and I didn't realize what you were doing. That character has been restored. HoC is actually a safe place to transfer gear, although the safest option is asking another player.

So after playing for what... a month or so now? I have to say this place is pretty darn cool. Seeing more and more people logging on and taking part in big runs. Look forward to hanging out with all of you on there.

I am glad people have been enjoying it. Aventia 3 Merged has come a long way, and it's still continuing to evolve. We have had a ton of new features go live since I last posted an update here, too many to list in fact. If people are interested check out the group, or see for yourselves in game.

Loved your server (yes, just one when I played) back in 2002-2004ish. Had some amazing times with some amazing people on there. Played as FinalRemedy I beleive, a sorc if you remember me. I know you probably had thousands of players that passed through your servers though.

Here's a thanks, again, 7 or so years later for starting and managing such a great server (and later, multiple servers). NWN lost a great DM/Admin the day you stepped down.

Indeed, we all owe Oclair a debt of grattitude, as well as Ralt (the host of Av2), and the 100+s of people who have worked on the mod over the years. I too enjoyed playing Av on both those hosts, and there is no doubt Av3 would not be here at all, and would not be what it is today with out them.

We prolly still have your toons Final, if you ever want to dust them off (although Av3 is quite a bit different from what you remember Av1 being I am sure.) I uploaded both Oclair's, and Ralt's player vaults.

Indeed Brian, you did give us inspiration for one of our wonderful customizations (QP shards, based off your own, I forget what you call them? Wish shards?)

I was glad to see too that Aventia gave inspiration to a NWN 2 server (not to mention numerous other NWN 1 servers) the concept of post 40 (or in the case of NWN 2 post 30.)  That all started with Oclair Moniar way back at the end of 2002 when Aventia 1 became the first server (I believe) with a post 40 system.

If you wish to interview me, I would take that on, however I am a bit shy. I sound like bleaker from the muppets. Or is it Animal? I forget... And there would be some things we would have to discuss first.

Nonetheless I appreciate the opportunity. I am open to discussing the possibilites...

But honestly I don't think I would really be a worthy enough interview subject. I only started hosting Aventia 3 Merged about a year ago, so I might not have all of the back ground on Aventia 1, 2, and certainly don't G.

What might be really cool though is if you got some of the main players in the PW hosting/owning together, and did a joint interview with them. Av3 is still pretty small time compared to some of the big guns out there. Servers like HoW and PoA in action. Not to mention RP servers (which which are still very popular, but I am not familiar with who are the major players there, and likewise with the other categories.) I would love to hear people like Funky Swerve and others discussing the current state of NWN1 PWs, and what they see for the future.

 Hi, guys.

I played on Aventia a number of years ago. You might recall my toons as all having the word "Elrick" in their names. If you remember me, you doubtless recall a masterful player named Manny. In addition to being a skilled and capable gamer, Manny was generous, politite, and inclusive.

Yesterday, I learned that Manny had passed away on the 4th of July, victim of a long illness. If any of Manny's many friends remain on Aventia and desire more information, his son has posted details on his FaceBook page (https://www.facebook...ion=friends_tab).

I do remember Manny, as I am sure many other from Av1 do as well. That is sad news indeed.

Thanks MM, for whatever reason my virus scanner really doesn't like FRAPS, but I know it is commonly used amongst gamers. I might try that.
