This might be something I should post at the Dragon Age 2 debut trailer thread, but here we go anyway.
Gametrailers are pretty much dissecting all the details, from the trailer, feel free to discuss it. :)

Hm interesting. I didn't know we knew who the king was and what that symbol meant, exactly. Also didn't know we knew exactly what the Qunari markings meant.

And isn't the army fighting Flemeth and her mages templars and not Grey Wardens?

Thanks for this.

Man I wish I had time to play DAO several times. I'm going to have to finally beat it and then read a whole lot of info on the wiki, because I know there's a ton of stuff I'll never find out about from the game (such as the backstory of Sten, he doesn't quite like me, etc).

Thanks for the link, interesting way to dissect things. I agree with Anarya, I thought it was Templars. Guess we will find out sooner or later.

This is horrible. It has information that can't be verified or is just flat out wrong (Grey Wardens fighting robed mage army? WRONG)
Here's a better breakdown at greywardens.com.

They could've also verified that striders are not new darkspawn types. But overall, not a bad video I think.

I am also a little curious on why they would jump to the conclusion that it is Grey Wardens fighting mages.

Not necessarily either. The don't have the templar or Warden symbol, instead they have some sort of tree, which suggests armor of elven make. This is confusing since the helmets have what is typically a distinctive human flair in fantasy games.

Let's make a list:

Qunari invasion of Kirkwall: Maybe. It's one Qunari, hardly indicative of an invasion.

Viscount of Kirkwall: Likely but not confirmed (Not that I've seen at least). Could just be some random noble of Kirkwall.

Red marking on Qunari indicate high rank: No? I don't recall seeing this verified either.

Hawke resorting to Blood Magic: Maybe even likely, but not confirmed and not certain.

New darkspawn type: WRONG, this is a Strider and it is not a darkspawn.

Flemeth's new host: Maybe. There's nothing to prove that Flemeth has changed bodies. That could very well be the same Flemeth of Origins.

Grey Wardens fighting Robed Mages: WRONG. They are clearly Templars judging by an earlier shot that shows their skirts with the templar design on them. Also, it's not confirmed that I'm aware of that those are actually mages they're fighting either.

Yeah those are templars, their shields have templar heraldry.

I thought it was the flaming sword that's on the templar armor in Origins, not a tree.

I was wondering that too, maybe they know something that we don't? Image IPB

Lol well that blasted SteveGarbage's theorys out of the water, I take it then that all of the information in that vid is correct, which makes me wonder why the Grey Wardens are fighting mages and not Darkspawn

Ooh, nice.

Unless you're supplying them with false information to throw us off the trail!  That is something you would do, evil Chris Priestly.

Thanks, that's quite informative. I'm still confused, though, as to Hawke's seemingly multiclassedness (it's a word, trust me ;) ).

WOW. I would be DELIGHTED to take on an army of self-righteous grey wardens.

Assuming they're self-righteous, of course.  Assuming you can take sides. Haha - I'm projecting all sorts of possibilities here.

I didn't know the Grey Wardens had that many Templars... I suppose, these are the Kirkwall Grey Wardens? The Templars have control over them too?

Maybe the mages refused to give them the cookies they were promised.
What better explanation do you need?

Ah yes I had forgotten how protective the Grey Wardens are with their cookies, it all makes sense now Image IPB

So they are Wardens after all? Interesting. Well I guess they don't have much better to do with the Blight being taken care of.
