Oops, hit enter by mistake.

But anyway I just bought the game last night and I'm noticing for some reason my graphics is really suffering. For one I cannot see character portraits and the inventory screen doesn't show the character either. The graphics are set to low and lag and there are missing pixels.

Right now I'm running a NVIDIA GeForce 6200, could that be the problem?

would replacing it with this onewww.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp be enough to run the game?
I can't really tell, only starting the tech classes I'm taking.

That's an AGP card. Is that the one you'd need or PCI Express?

No I need an AGP, already checked it to make sure too.

But will it play Dragon age alright?

I honestly love the game, and it kills me to play it so slowly.

I'd spend a bit of cash and buy a PCI-express motherboard and a PCI graphics card. You'll only go so far with an AGP... that card is the problem, just replace your motherboard to a PCI express one so you can use a PCIe graphics card, problem solved.

You'll have Dragon Age running slow on any AGP card, it's outdated technology.  There's a 7900GS AGP card, if you really want to spend the same as a better PCIe card, but remain AGP.

A mainline gaming card has a "600" performance code in its name.  Business graphics, such as 6200, 7300, and 8400, are all too slow, have too few shader operators, and too narrow of a memory bandwidth.  You can get Radeons from the HD 4000 generation, but nVIDIA dropped support for AGP during their Geforce 7000 geberation, four years ago.  Although the video card is 50% of the game performance solution, enough RAM, an adequate CPU, and a decent power supply are all also important.

Because a PC so old that it still has a terrible 6200 in it probably had too little RAM, a poor power supply, and a slow CPU, this long after the last AGP PCs were sold, spending any money to upgrade such a dinosaur is mostly a very poor choice.
