I already have a dual weapon fighter and he is doing nicely, thank you. But for a couple of reasons I would like a sword and board dps.
But I am having trouble getting the build down.
I thought I could use 3 lines of skills.
The powerful line in warrior
The shield bash line in weapon and shield and
The shield block line in weapons and shield
beserker - specialization
I will need a total of 32 str and 26 dex to pull this off.
So here is what I have so far.
Level 0 -
Attributes all 5 points in str(20) dex 14
Skill- expert combat training
Talents - automatic-shield bash, shield pommel and powerful
Level 1
all 3 points in str(23) dex-14
talent-precise striking - nice if you aren't hitting as often as you would like
Level 2
all 3 points in str (26) dex -14
talent-overpower
Level 3
all 3 points in str (29) dex -14
talent- shield block
Level 4
all 3 points in str (32) dex -14
talent-assault (somewhere pick up master combat training- dont know which level it would be available to pick up)
Level 5 (could switch this and level 6)
all 3 points in str (35) dex -14
talent - threaten( just to get to the end of this line) don't use it unless they are going after the squishies
Level 6
1 point in str (36), 2 points in dex (16)
talent- shield cover
Level 7
talent-beserk(beserker)
Level 8
talent - resilience(beserker)
level 9
talent - bravery
level 10
talent - Constaint(beserker)
level 11
talent- shield tactics (need at least 4 more dex points by now)
level 12
talent-powerful(beserker)
level 13
talent -death blow
I want to get the shield mastery in there but I don't know where.
I think that will work - but most likely I missed something up at level 2 that will bring the whole build crashing down.
A dps sword and board

I'm currently playing a sword and shield warrior, barely knowing what the names of the talents are, just mindlessly trying to get all talents under the sword and shield tree.
But based on personal experience, I find that if I want to keep 2 sustained modes like Shield Wall and Threaten, I only have enough stamina to do one taunt.
Bear in mind I didn't bother with willpower much and concentrated only on strength and stamina initially. But it's something to consider if you plan to have a lot of skills.
