I'll show you what I mean about the armoured boobies.
Left: Female human in dragon plate. Acceptable.
Middle: Female human in heavy chain. Silly. The chest is completely flat, then the boobies stick out at 90 degrees. Not acceptable.
Right: My actual boobies. They do not stick out from my pecs at an angle, like DA boobies.
In fairness, you have very small boobs, and that top is flattening them rather than supporting them.
Me, I'm all about the medeum armour breastplates. They lift, and seperate!

Here's another shot of the heavy chain, as modelled by Mhairi. What on earth is going on with her boobs here? I've highlighted the offending article in white so you can see the very bizarre way it bulges out to the side. That is not normal!

Here's exhibit B, the lovely Sergeant Maverlies in medium armour. Each one of her cups could double as a hat. A hat! Good grief. Very few non-obese women have honkers of that diameter. There are one or two and they usually make a good career in the adult movie industry. It's not normal, people.

I do and I also lift weights. But still, I maintain DA boobs are silly.

If I am not mistaken, isn't armor supposed to be designed to protect ones sensitive areas? I am not sure what you are showing here is an accurate depiction of what's going on beneath the armor. This is not a skin suit. It is naturally supposed to be thicker and larger than what it is protecting.
If you are talking about the basic human female model under all that armor, perhaps her chest might be borderline big, but I don't see why anyone should have a problem with it. You can't cater to *everyones* personal preference as well as be cost effective in production at the same time IMO.
In your own photo, the bathing suit you are wearing seems to press your chest in, as opposed to accentuate it. If you are talking about women who are built proportionately, it seems the average human female build in the game suffices. I am personally bult more like the fems that are designed in DAO, with a slightly smaller chest, and see no reason why I should complain that they didn't design the chest *exactly* like mine.
In general people will always find reason to complain I think, and if indeed they were to design something smaller, you will find that others want them larger.
The proportions in this game are quite good, if not attractive even, and there is nothing wrong with the players who *do not* have anything even remotely similar to the female design to have a PC character look absolutely fabulous in their fantasy world.

Until then, I guess I'll be more comfortable playing men.

I responded to the poll and too am surprised and happy by the amount of female gamers that love Dragon Age. I am a woman and the romance is part of why I love DAO, but it isn't the only thing by far. I also love the story, the customization, the game-play, the history, races and religion of Thedas...I love just about everything which is why I love the game so much. I like to romance and kick ass both and DAO satisfies both of those cravings.
I'm with you on all counts

Yeah, massive norks have long been a problem in games. Sigh.

Oh, when I was still working for PC Gaming World I wrote a long editorial column on Lara Croft (Tomb Raider was just out there - my review of it was in our launch issue back in late 96) and how she wasn't the feminist icon some were holding her up to be, but actually some male gamer's wet dream. I think I used the phrase "dead heat in a zeppelin race" somewhere in there.
Yeah, massive norks have long been a problem in games. Sigh.
But Lara Croft rocks whatever the intentions of the people who designed her breasts are! At least she's gotten much better in the newer games.

*is a major gaming nerd*
To stay on topic, I've been a gamer since I first performed a fatality at the age of 6 in the original Mortal Kombat. I own all three major gaming systems, in fact I first played DAO on PS3. Romances are not the reason I started playing DAO, but they are the reason I still play, for the most part. Adds to immersion.

Dunno, to me the boobs in Dragon Age seemed normal. ( Then again I haven't played the game with a female character for months, so I am speaking from memory and I might be wrong )

English and Australian slang for breast ;-)
Oh, actual comment on the breast issue, right. I think intent is important. Does the female character have large bazoombas because it suits her character and build or is it simply to provide eye candy?
A barbarian shaped woman might be expected to have larger than usual breasts as she would be larger than usual woman. An elf on the other hand, slim, short, fine boned, small breasts seem to fit better (so to speak).
My two coppers for whatever its worth.

As far as DA2, I think we need to have custom bodies. But even then, people will still complain about this and that. Can't win for losing I suppose. But anyway, all female gamers rule! *fistbump*

Costin - Yeah I'm well aware of it. It is a constant source of annoyance.
Lol, sorry for not being specific. But I was referring to REAL armor, not some **** people invent for fantasy games/TV shows.

Eum, maybe it would become clearer once the bras are removed. They seem to be flatening....
Bad joking aside, @ Costin
I actually can't find any real female armor pics. Just a large extensive variety of boobs. Do you actualy have some pics? I am curious.
Of course I know of Jean of Arc's drawings, but not sure how accurate they are
