I first played as human noble. Now I am playing as an elven Magi. And I have to say, my whole perspective vis a vis mages changed, epecially when it comes to Rowan. In my warrior noble story, I couldn't care less about Jowan, but thought he might be useful. At that time, my understanding of mages was limited, but I supported the Templars and the Chantry, even if I found tranquils to be inhuman machines.
But now that I play as a mage, I feel sorry for Jowan. And for mages in general. But it also showed that whenever the Templars suspect something, they are usually right. Now I did start this new game knowing that I will save the circle from the Templars annihilating it. But now, I really want to save them. As a Human noble, I supported the Templar, and would still do if I replay. But I can't do it as a mage.
One thing that I really loved is the talk about Circle politics, with different fraternities / parties. But I was equally dissapointed that they didn't delve in this deeper. I expected that we can meet with representatives from each fraternity, perhaps even Uldred of the Libratarians, so we can understand him better. But alas, we only got one codex of this. I probably would have sided with the conformists, but with some leaning to the libratarians. The ones who seek political influence and money are also interesting and I wish that we can speak with one of them, so we can understand better.
My second origin impression
