I'm quite interested in how the sibling dynamic will work in regard to interaction with other party members.

Varric: Hey sweet stuff, you fancy coming back to my place for a little something to eat?

Hawke: Remember who you are talking to, keep that up and I'll have you stripped, shaved, painted pink and put on a leash with a little bell.

If this was between Bethany and a Lady Hawke...

Hawke: Don't get close to my dwarf you beyotch, or I'm forced to MUD WINE WRESTLE with you!

Varric: *grins*

NOTE: I can't believe I'm not already sick of my own joke, it's like the 4th time I've posted this on the Biowared DA2 forums

First time I've seen it, I mustn't have been paying attentionPosted Image

Still competition over a LI would have it's amusement, however custard would be better than wine, you can never get enough custard.

I noticed something...which is actually pretty obvious but take a look:

the famost bust size. as you can see they are with flemeth

another shot of it, take a look at the environment.

Now compare them with those pictures:

Its the exact same area and they are with Flemeth as well.. Its also been stated that there sometimes will be exaggerations by Varric, so that we have to play a short part twice. So I bet my ass its the exact same fight...but the boobed one is Varrics exaggeration and the dressed one is how it actually happened.

HA! That would be hilarious if Varric's over dramatization of the stories actually changed the models of the characters. I can imagine him making someone he didn't like extremely ugly or whatever. It could just be the outfit and not necessarily Varric's doing, though.

I'm also curious on Bethany's apostate status. Did the parents just keep their mage children hidden away and trained secretly? Was she ever part of the Circle? This is a good question that was brought up.

It could also be the reason why Flemeth has an interest in Hawke and Bethany if she has always been an apostate, maybe she saw a power in her that she wished to see mature outside of her own influence, especially if Hawke is an lifelong apostate mage as well.

With reference to Captain Iglo's pictures above, I rather think that the first two belong to cut-scene/dialogue screens, possibly showcasing different clothing in each as Hawke's is different in both as well. That said however, the clothing in the first seems a lot more like that refugee's would wear and the second set being more like Varric's exagerration.

On a purely speculative note, do we think they might add any extra dialogue regarding the sibling dynamic if we were to name Hawke Bethany, especially if Hawke is male.

If you name a Male Hawke Bethany you get a game over screen, because the humiliation made Hawke slit his wrists at age sixteen.

Only if he were an emo Hawke, a big, hugely manly Hawke would surely come to own the name, making it super masculine, which would probably make Bethany Bethany insecure?

I'm really looking forward to the dynamic of playing with a family member in DA2 and I'm sure others are too, to which I would ask:

Would you like to see a difference between Hawk & Bethany's relationship depending on Hawke's profession, surely they would have more common ground if Hawke were a mage, and her views on certain moral decisions might differ if Hawke were a rogue?

Do we think that Bethany is an apostate or a runaway from the Circle, or perhaps she was travelling through her families hometown in the company of Templars in time for the attack?

*SPOILER* If Hawke's brother, Carver, is killed soon into the game as well as his mother, how long do we think that Bethany will survive in the game, personally I would hope for the entirety.

NB: Lets not let this thread degenerate to childish talk of breast size or incest.

I completely agree with you.

I would like to see Bethany affected by your choices and the way you treat her in-game. Meaning if you do something that goes against her morals/wishes, she becomes icier to you as the game's timeline spans, possibly even turning into a deep rift that could never be healed, or that if you're extremely close to her, she become's the protective sister and looks out for you. It would also be cool if you could influence her, such as convincing her to go down a darker path (or the correct moral path, since we don't even know her personality yet), perhaps convince her to become a blood mage, basically I want to see her truly react to Hawke's decisions as someone who is flesh and blood to him/her.

Perhaps Bethany has her own romance options? Not for Hawke (I'm not one who exactly supports incestuous relations), but between Bethany and another party member? Maybe female Hawke and Bethany vie for the same man? Or perhaps male Hawke is involved with a female party member Bethany doesn't exactly approve of (and you're forced to choose between your sister and the woman you love/like). Maybe even Bethany can be married off to several suitors (that you can approve/disapprove of). I want to see these sort of dynamics in the game.

And yes, she needs to stay the entire game. Please. The orphan, family killed in the beginning thing is a bit overdone.

On a side note though I think it's highly unlikely I do think it would be cool if Bethany could resemble Hawke depending on how you make him/her. Maybe not look like Hawke physically as far as facial features go but share the same skin, hair, and eye color (for example for a pale, red-haired, green eyed Hawke Bethany has red hair, pale skin and green eyes, for a dark-skinned Hawke Bethany comes with darker skin). Its a far thought but still a cool one.

SPOILER-

I know that Carver dies, but his does mother as well? Bethany is an apostate.

Also I think she will be around for a lot of the game. They are saying that this game is going to deal a good amount with family. I want to be a mage to share some common ground with her.

Seeing as we can explore a negative relationship with our companions I would be very interested in how this would affect Bethany.

With regard to Bethany & Hawke's past I would prefer that this be detailed in exposition delivered by Bethany rather than written lore.

Perhaps Bethany wove the tapestries, I wouldn't want to waste her skill points on needlepoint thoughPosted Image
