An Idea!

Obviously you can reload the game if you don't like the outcome but to me this would add a level of immersion into the game. Like it or not, just an idea.

Bioware RPGs are about comversations and choices, and deep ones at that, not about who thinks fastest and has the best twitch reflexes. Coupled with the paraphrases from the dialogue wheel such a system, red fist icons or not, would plunge the convos into utter madness.

I'm not saying combine the new DA2 dialogue system with this idea but as a whole new separate system. Let's face it, a lot of people complain about "realism" and this would add a level of realism to the game. When talking to someone or you have to make a choice, you don't get to just sit there and wait and wait some more before replying (at least I don't). As for Bioware's current marketing stating "think like a General" sometimes you need to make quick decisions without fulling knowing the outcome of your decisions and this would help add to that. This isn't taking about a conversation or even choices, but making you think quickly on your feet.

I would love to see something similar in DA2. The paragon/renegade sequences were a nice touch despite being far and few between.

So would y'all be opposed to some mission complete screen detailing your xp earned, loot, and how many credits you earned. Maybe also a big score counter thing in the top right corner too!
Just kidding

Actually, in one sense, I wouldn't mind it. In the sense that you could be rewarded xp for completing a mission, and not always per-kill. It would be nice to be rewarded for finding a way to avoid combat. Instead, there's no advantage to it, as you miss out on the exp and loot. Obviously this wouldn't have to be a mission complete screen like in ME, but I would like to see at least that one aspect of what the mission complete screen represents.Merced256 wrote...

As for interrupts, I think there's something like them in DA2 already. I thought people mentioned something about having NPC's going off and mass slaughtering darkspawn during a conversation in the San Diego Comic Con demo. Some sort of action in dialogue thing.

Also some interrupts in ME2 were just so funny, especially the renegade ones. Even without an alignment system I think the Bioware staff could figure out a way to have interrupts if not for DA2 perhaps, for a future DA game.

I so wanna do that mage thing nowKoffeegirl wrote...
I think interrupts could work if they were based on your persuasion/intimidation. Also they could have interrupts specific to classes...for example in DAO if you are a mage and you meet the bandits outside of Lothering you have the option to say, "Do you really want to fight a mage?" In DA2 this could be an interrupt if you can intimidate and instead you start to glow and form a fireball in your hand and all scary and glowing like Hawke says menacingly, "Do you really want to fight a mage?"

Also tossing a qunari out of window??

I really think that DA2 has the potential without the alignment system to still have some really awesome interrupts: Does anyone have other good ideas for funny interrupts?

Edit: I can't believe I finally found a non-forced situation where I could use that word.

We can still have cool things like Qunari defenestration without needing interrupts.

I think this is a situation where I'm okay with realism being sacrificed for the sake of character building. Although I wouldn't mind ME2-style interrupts, which I guess would be sort of like this.
I would like interrupts, but I am a person that sucks with anything timed. So more than likely I'd screw up and never get a chance to see anything else.
Good idea but not for me.
