I hope bioware fixes this game, otherwise it will just prove that they don't care.

You realize that people have been complaining about the bugs to no avail since it was released, right?  What makes you think they would care now, when Origins, and everything about it, has been thrown under the bus to clear the path for DA2?

It is sad, but it does feel like this, doesn't it?

We have known for awhile that the Warden's story was not going to be continued, and at least they are trying to tie up the storyline, at least.

I am hoping the Witch Hunt expansion is a good ending to a good story.

My hope is minimal...

I enjoyed DA:A, but agree that it would be better if combat were better balanced.

That being so, it is quite funny to find a thread like this and then go read one of the "OMFG GoA is way too hardz to get acheevmint onnnn" threads.

I think BioWare deserves credit for getting more right, more often, than it does wrong.

The ending was so bad I thought it was (another) glitch. It was like buh-bye, see ya, go away.

You admit awakenings is a bad game, I think its great besides
the easy difficulity, thats the only thing they need to fix.

Why would bioware not fix it? its their only broken game at
the moment.

They should keep their reputation good.

They don't need to fix the difficulty because it's not broken. If
you could prove that it was with balanced characters (in other
words,no characters with 90% of their stat points in 1 or 2
stats) then maybe Bioware would change it, but as long as
they see this sort of stat stacking, they won't take complaints
seriously.

i think it's funny how a lot of people complain about Awakening...It's also funny how many grammar ****s are on here...but i thought Awakening was a fun game. I did not feel that it was that difficult, but it was not too easy, especially if you don't just jack up one or two of your stats. Try playing through Awakening with a balanced character. I died three time fighting the lightning dragon thingy (sorry, i forget what it was called). finally i got mad and downloaded the makers sword that has godlike stats...big mistake, but i beat the dragon. All in all it was a fun game

P.S. to get the makers sword i had download it from this site and then i had to go back into origins and save a game with the sword and load that character into Awakening...that sucked because i had to play through the entire thing to get back at the swamp/marsh/creepy area.

This is exactly what happens when you crawl in bed with the likes of EA...

Kick it to the curb and grind out the next one. Product content and quality matters not as long as the money keeps rolling in.

How is this an argument? Mages should invest in Magic and Willpower -> nothing else makes sense. Rogues primarily in Dex and Cunning with a smattering in Will/Con. Warriors in Strength and the rest between Dex/Will maybe.
Why would anyone create a character that has balanced stats across all 6? In fact, those players should be punished by the game.

1) Stat inflation
2) Equipment inflation
3) Skill inflation

I would agree those three things may have helped to make things worse, however if the mobs themselves scaled correctly/and had new talents/abilities the game would have been fine. imho

In my games the mob groups all spawned from lvl 11 to 20ish (not counting the few elites/bosses which do scale better) I started awakening at 24 and when I started hitting lvl 20ish mobs I was already in my 30's so it's no wonder I could fight them barehanded basically.

Thank goodness for mods...but really this needed fixing right away with a few other things...imho

I disagree; I hate playing games where I have to use a build guide to have a chance of completing the game. Out of probably two dozen games I've bought over the last 15 years, I've completed 3; Wing Commander 3: Heart of the Tiger, Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins. When I get a chance to concentrate on it (after my current DA:O playthrough) I will be tackling Awakening, Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt, all with the same character. Then I'll use that character to set the world state for my DA2 playthrough as Hawke.

Character builds in DA are obvious, straightforward. I don't think a RPG player has any trouble with it, this is bad however, and, to be honest, i really hate the Pause and Play strategy, warriors' animations are bad and this "friendly fire possible" >.<

Awakening is not a game... it's an expansion of Origins... not a Sequel... not a new game.

Altough Awakening is full of bugs, once you have figured out how to avoid it you can go 'til the end of the game in a safe way..

1 - Silverite Mines? Remember to enter naked...
2 - Sigrun Personal Quest? Remember to NOT do the quest Law and Order before it
3 - Oghren's gift approval bug? Remember to import a character from Origins with some generic gifts in the inventory
Ok.. It's annoying to play a game like if you are running a "giant slalom" between bugs but in the end all of them are avoidable if you are careful (the only exception was Velanna's exile, but luckily it was fixed with patch 1.04)

I find more annoying the broken dialogues at the end of Origins becuase there is no way to prevent them...

If you want a challenge, fight the only boss whose difficulty Bioware has gotten right: The final boss of Amgarrak DLC. To this day I have only had one character beat him on nightmare and I utilized massive cheese in order to do it. Ridiculously difficult.

Don't blame bioware blame EA. as usual EA was too impatient and basically cracked the whip over biowares heads telling them to hurry up. it was a rushed job if you compare some of the areas in awakening to origins awakenings areas definitely look like they were hurried on

Bugs/Glitches do not make the "expansion" broken. And their are only a few bugs, unless you do things in a strange order... Hopefully these things will be looked into for the next patch.

What I mean by the game being broken is the fact that your not playing the game, your just watching the game vlbecause it's so easy that you as a gamer don't need to think or do anything to win. I have purposely weakens my wardens to use only origins items and not use any awakening skills. Yet the game is still too easy. If your watching a game instead of playing it. Then it's not a game and that's why awakening is broken.

I find interesting that there was a huge thread not long ago lamenting that scaling in DA:O was ruining it. Now this thread seems to be lamenting that the lack of scaling ruins Awakening.

So just because you're too hardcore at games and find it easier than Origins it's a broken game? Please.

MW2 is what I'd call a broken game. Dumbed down so a child could play it (and they do), a 5 hour campaign and multiplayer that has an insane number of glitches.

None of you have put me off still wanting Awakenings. If you know what makes a great game then why are none of you in the videogame business?
