Hi,
I just bought the game from gamestop and it is not reading the
disc. I had the same problem with WotLk. It was a combination of my
CDROM and Vista. I ended up having to rewrite my driver. Is anyone
else having these issues?
I remember I have to run something as
administor and enter in a website type deal, but other than that I am
lost. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
Belianna<3
Disc is not being recognized

Can you try another DVD and it will read it fine? I am assuming that it doesn't read the DAO DVD at all right? can't even browse to it in your computer?

It is not reading other dvds... I remember my type of driver was said to have obstacles when using the dvd... I will check on vista.com to update my drivers...

Well, its certainly either a bad driver or possibly even a bad DVD rom. Have you tried a movie DVD? If it won't even read that then something is certainly amiss. Does it spin up and try to read? Give you any errors?
A solution if you just want to play ( and have the bandwidth time )
http://eastore.ea.com/eadm
Using the EA Download manager You can download the digital version of the game using the key from your DVD copy, and it doesnt require a dvd to play

Well, to be honest Vista really shouldn't need any special cd/dvdrom drivers unless its an external drive then maybe. You can navigate to Control Panel > Device Manager Find DVD/CDROM devices in the list. Your drive will be listed under there. Right click on it. Goto properties and the hit update drivers and use interenet search. If it comes up empty and still doesn't work then you can try right clicking on it and uninstalling it. You'll have to reboot and then vista will reinstall the drive.
BTW. Can you read CDs with it?

great. Well, you can cancel the EADM if you want, but if you normally have DVD issues I'd recommend letting it install from the EADM cause it won't require the disc to be inserted to play.

No, I agree! I downloaded Aion that way and only had one small problem in the beg... Some reason I could not find the online download last night so i opted to by the disc... That wont happen again...
Thank you guys for all of your support...

No problem. Besides, now you have a hard copy and a digital copy so no loss
Paper manuals are easier to read too
