since mass effect 2 i've had the "bioware effect." same thing happened when kotor first came out and me1 came out.. the difference is there wasn't another bioware game for me to play right after. i've payed da:o and me1 and me2 pretty much exclusively since late january. bioware makes all other games seem like... well just games. nothing compares, so nothing's worth playing while you're trapped under this affect.. it takes time followed by a really good game to cure.

I believe I was playing Fable 2 at the time or ME 2, can't remember which. I do remember however waiting eagerly for my pre-order to arrive and musing when it arrived a day late. I still have NWN, BG II, Kotor and The Witcher on my computer, ready to play whenever I get bored of DAO (which tends to happen as I go in and out of enjoyment).

It was either ME2 or Fallout 3. Probably ME2 [which I'm still playing] rather than FO3 [which I'm not].

Why do you need to quit playing a game just because you need to play another game? I mean, if the game dont' have any subscription, this to me makes no sense.

You don't have to quit anything, I simply want to know how many others found DAO addicting enough to just "quit" (take a break) from their previous/current games.

WoW.

I'm back-ish now though. Just biding my time, making money for Cataclysm TBH.

I didn't renew my WoW subscription for a couple of months. I am semi-back though, after playing well over 200 hours of DA.

Don't like the thread? Then find one you do like and post there. No need to jump in just to post insults. In fact, it's against the rules of conduct. Savvy?

I game bounce to what ever takes my fancy at the time..mmo's ftp mmo's any other bioware/beth soft game.

Oddly though this is one of the few bioware games I could only stomach once.Parts of it are so long and tedious.Sure I explored the diffrent orgins and tried one of the player made classes but that stopped with patch 1.03.

So yea, pretty much now I will fire up the game if I have new dlc or find something interesting on the web mod wise.

I took about a five month break from Runes of Magic to play DA:O and DA:A. I'm back to RoM now and have played both ME1 and ME2 in the past few months (*had* to get them since I found I loved DA:O soooo much), but I am *still* playing DA on a regular basis and will most likely be doing so until DA2 comes out next year.

I quit WoW to make time for single player games like DAO and ME2. Haven't looked back- awesome story telling that MMOs can't compare to.

I hate my gaming style. I usually play halfway through a game, then go play another game halfway though, then another, and another, etc... I was playing Red Dead, ME2, and FF13, and DAO at the same time. Finished ME2 and DAO, but RDR and FF13 are still in limbo (oh and bioshock, and tales of vesperia).

I quit BG2 to play DAO in November. I recently finally finished BG2, and am happily playing DAO again. BG2 was very good, but the tedious interface (about 25 mouse clicks to prepare and buff for battle) and the cardboard companions made it get old after a while.

Sure it does, if you leave your game dangling and don't go back to complete it because you're having so much fun playing DA:O repeatedly. I was playing Divinity 2 (which I will eventually complete) and a Fallout 3 Expansion. Fallout 3 is an awesome game, but that character's life seems horribly lonely after travelling with the companions. I missed them when I was in the fade, let alone playing a whole game where you have no real friends or companions.
