Dyes! Dyes for all one's clothes. The robe might look colour-wise like a banana, but one could alleviate it with some black dye.

This was one of the features I actually liked about Fable 2, I can't see why it would be bad in DA2 though there might be difficulties applying dye to armour.

I'd prefer using staffs in close combat, with devastating effect based on staff properties. For example, flaming staff will lit enemies on fire, the one that radiates cold will freeze the enemy. And darkspawn corrupted staff... You don't want to be hit with that stick.Russalka wrote...
Should characters be able to lean on their staves aswell? Walk around properly, it could function as a walking stick. Traditional wizards do it.

There was never a real need to dye the armor. Id say just use it for cloth.

Those drab robes are fine to me. They looked like uniforms considering the status of mages in Thedas.

As explained by Anders that's because mages tend to be in a hurry while having sex, as they have to hide from templars. So instead of dressing/undressing it's just pull up the robe. And if a templar suddenly comes in "Nothing, it was nothing. Oh this on the floor? Just some mayonaise."Bella Stiletto wrote...
Why don't mages ever wear pants? Does it somehow impede their magical powers or something?

Bah - nothing quicker than opening up the fly and getting to it. Poor boy just couldn't get his hands on some decent pants, is all.

I'd rather their defenses come from magics like that repulsion spell in Awakening, or just damage negation spells like shields, makes them feel more like mages and less like warriors with spells, although preferably in a way that doesn't lag my computer...
Edit: Relating that to mage outfits, I'd be happy with my mages just looking good, no need to be heavily armored.
I totally agree.

I won't mind a mage looking like this.
(pistol included...we can say it's a magical focus or something)
I dig the look minus the pistol.
My biggest problem with EVERY helmet/hat in the game is if they weren't part of a set they didn't match a damn thing and just made you look stupid. Wasn't just limited to mage hats, which were horendous.
Nice pics.
Yes, if Dragon Age mages are supposed to be so powerful, it would be nice to have the appropriate attire to match their badass-ness.

EDIT: Or well, Bioware wasn't a fan of chainmail bikinis. The World of Warcraft style (not in latest item sets I think) has been a lot about women fighting in plate thongs and having swimsuit magic robes.

I like this one, but the style doesn't really need to be so low cut for me.

I like this one too, the staff is quite nice too.
I certainly don't want anything stupidly revealing for female mages, but I also don't want the old lady housecoats or the furry shouldered look my boobs have grown gear we had in Origins.

The same with Leather armor. There were only two styles.
Also FYI Bioware. When the player puts a lot of time and hard work into acquiring a new set of armor, it shouldn't look exactly like the crappy base armor they were wearing while trying to acquire it!!!!!
The heavy armor was great for the most part. My only complaint is that I absolutely hate, despise, and LOATHE the helmet used for both the Juggernaut set and King Cailen's Armor set.
Medium armor was really cool and unique looking but there should have been more then 2 variations.

I don't want oversexualised robes either..I am a girl <_<. I don't think the picture I posted up was over-sexualised (though her breast were sort of cupped weirdly...), other than that it didn't show much skin (minus the stomach area).

The Fact that this outfit was never in the game still irks me.

Yes, it's exciting to come across a new set of leather armor only to find out that it looks like what you were just wearing, but with different stats.
The amount of times I've felt this disappointment in my first run-through...is insurmountable

Good idea, although I would have to resist the temptation to clad my whole team in black & red like some kind of medievel Farscape Peacekeeper squad.
