Is it that difficult to make a hood? Just a regular hood as one might see attached to a cloak?

Also, can we have cloaks?

The first time i played dragon age origin i was pissed off at level 7 .. because i was still wearing the same frigging ugly robe and hat ( my first playthrough ever)

I was just glad they took my shameful hat off during the cutscenes. I would feel like a fool with that thing on while talking to the king.

I loved the Tevinter robes in DAO. Reaper's Vestments kicked ass. But the other mage robes did need an update, and from what I've seen with Beth the dev team are well on their way.



Also, for the eleventieth zillion time, MORE AND BETTER LOOKING LIGHT ARMOR! You heard me BW! Make it happen!

After thinking about it.... I would be happy if they just gave me some black or gray robes so I could look more evil. Just take what you have, and cover it in black, gray, and red for me, will ya? Maybe thats the most I could really hope for.

The one thing I didn't like about the robes was that most of the female robes have a leotard style to them.....it's kind of creepy when you put Wynne in one.

I think that's part of my problem with the Tevinter robes. I never play a mage and I never use Morrigan, but Wynne is always in my party. I don't like seeing so much old person flesh. And it sucks because it seems the best robes in the game are of that style.

@ CptSkull Do you mean like fake looking skin? if so then I noticed that as well. Sometimes I could barely tell if it was supposed to be skin or if it was just skin colored cloth.

They look like lampshades! I realise this was very much a style in medieval times but there's a reason why no artist shows them when drawing fantasy art: THEY'RE BUTT UGLY!

The cloth and leather pieces were terrible. One would think Thedas had only one fashion designer because every mage wore variations of the same outfit(s).



I would hope they change in around in DA2 -- and don't be too worried, I doubt the finer things like armour has been done yet so the outfits right now are placeholders.

I think I disliked the leather the most. And from the pictures they have now it looks just as ugly. I am thinking the same thing, I have been thinking that they might just be place holders and that they havent shown the true objects yet. I am hoping that is the case.

LOL. I can understand that taste is subjective but my main qualm was the lack of variation. You're right, the mage hood doesn't look THAT bad. But every cloth head piece looked like that! =_=
I think the first mod I got was the hide-helmet one

Anyways, as I stated, variation is what I'm all after. In leather, in cloth, and even in plate although BioWare really did a good job on the plate gear IMO.

I hope we see cloth outfits look something like:

 Hmm...I liked the SA trailer's Morrigan attire (and the SA Morrigan, too). Doesn't really say 'mage', tho', IMHO.
While it may look a bit 'out of place', I really like this armor mod thingy:

My preference for Mage armor.
