The cloth and leather pieces were terrible. One would think Thedas had only one fashion designer because every mage wore variations of the same outfit(s).
It did. The guy at Bio who modeled the outfits.

I think he ought to switch jobs and become a lampshade designer

The cloth hats/hoods are also beyond hideous.
They look like lampshades! I realise this was very much a style in medieval times but there's a reason why no artist shows them when drawing fantasy art: THEY'RE BUTT UGLY!
Seriously, can't we have like a regular cowl?
The mages cowls I was okay with. They looked fine. The weird little feathers were...well, weird, but they looked fine to me.
You were really okay with this:
?
LOL. I can understand that taste is subjective but my main qualm was the lack of variation. You're right, the mage hood doesn't look THAT bad. But every cloth head piece looked like that! =_=
I think the first mod I got was the hide-helmet one
I'm talking about this type:

Sorry, I should have made the distinction.

Hmm...I liked the SA trailer's Morrigan attire (and the SA Morrigan, too). Doesn't really say 'mage', tho', IMHO.
While it may look a bit 'out of place', I really like this armor mod thingy:

My preference for Mage armor.
(check out the rest of this guy's art...quite nice)
That guy either has the smallest head ever or the widest shoulders ever (or both). Or perhaps the armour in reality is a robot he sits in and controls?

Oh I see.
You're right they're not that horrible (the plume bugs me a little) but I stand by what I said: some more designs would be appreciated.

Ugh, but like everyone else said atleast they're not as bad as the hats.

I would like to have either Duncan's armor (it looks like it could be the greatest Arcane Warrior armor ever) or Darth Revan's armor (mask is optional headpiece but hood is mandatory;)). They both look awesome and are instantly recognizable yet aren't reused.

They should keep the Circle Mage's robes at least similar to the first game, but it would be nice to have some new apostate designs

Just imagine playing as Darth Revan with a red lightsaber (a longsword with a fire rune) using Spirit powers. It's a machinimanist's dream

but in-game turned out to be either boring or ridiculous.
Why can't the artist and devs work together? And who was the dude who looked at the designs (in particular the cone-heads) and went "Yes. Epic." Seriously ugh.

More robes please - the only reason I always play AW is to put on something more decent.
And yes, dev team should look at the artist's work when making robes. Mages can wear circlets instead of hats you know.
If Bioware does include Grey Knight armor (in my dreams)
