The style is far too exaggerated and hyper stylised. But they're a neat design IMO

World of Warcraft armour sets and weapon choice are actually so very inconvenient for real combat. Kind of pathetic...

There was a mage robes mod that I downloaded and installed, but it seems to be acting wonky (the robes did look good in the screenshots that I saw though). I'd prefer not resorting to future mods, so for the love of the Maker, please make mage robes sexier, oh great and mighty devs! And no more conehead hats either for that matter. My future female mage Hawke will thank you!

I'll assume that's an actual question.

Typically, the thought goes that heavier armor interferes with spellcasting, so classically mages never wear anything heavier than a simple robe.  In Dragon Age this translates into fatigue, which causes spells ot cost more mana.

In game mechanics terms, mages need to vulnerable to something since they're so much mor epowerful than either of the other two classes (after the early part of the game, at any rate).  It's an old truism that wizards start weak and frail and in the end are far more powerful than anyone else.

To add some more real-world-ness to the thought; robes are relatively simple to manfacture.  Betch there weren't that many tailors in the Circle

Do you mean why don't they wear leather/metal instead? I believe it's something like wearing armour hinders ones magic ability, that and you don't need armour if you're a mage really.

I always liked Guild War's armors. They were so awesome looking, yet too effing expensive. Anyways, this was always my favorite Elementalist armor.



They could also not have helms, but little glowing charms around their heads like in Guild Wars. Also, they could use silver charms like in Demon's Souls..

Well the warriors get medium. heavy, and massive armor which all looks different. So why can't mages have overcoats, robes, and cape/cloak things.
