I won't mind a mage looking like this. :D

(pistol included...we can say it's a magical focus or something :P )

WoW armour isn't supposed to be practical; it's an art style, one that I enjoy :)

You even picked the wrong tier, t8 looked so much cooler. "Now, all can see this is the hour of the Forsaken."

*slaps hand* No, Nerdage! Stop it!

My only real problem with the DAO mage robes was that they looked ridiculous on young males. They suited characters like Irving and Avernus, and there was alot more on the female model robes that made them better visually, but on younger male characters they looked a bit like bathrobes. That stopped being a problem for me when I started making female characters though (I still didn't use a "cowl" until the end of Awakening, since Toque of the Oblivious had such insane stats I couldn't turn it down), so I'm not all that concerned.

We don't need or want Fable.

True. Fable can stay far away from Dragon Age if all possible. BioWare should really look at this forum.. Hopefully they have changed it already.

Hehehe. Only played the first Fable (I don't really remember it much). :P

That's fan art from Warhammer Online, btw. DA needs some love for firearms (and steamworks :P )

I don't want steamworks in DA, though I would kill for a steampunk fantasy game. Someone make it happen gahhhh

Warlocks have had very nice tier gear in this expac. You're right though, Tier 8 (The Putress one right?) was awesome!\\\\

Apologies included, I do not play a lock

 yeah. I was kinda kidding (but, hey, if they did add steampunk elements in a dark fantasy setting...I won't mind  . I think I was serious about firearms...I think :pinched: )
I miss Arcanum (after being 'spoiled' by newer games' visuals/graphics, I'm not sure if I can play it again...considering the game CD is within arm's reach  ).

Mages or Sorceresses often wear the most elaborate of dresses in films for they are enchantresses who can either shape or destroy with a wave of the wand. Do dress them for the part.

One good thing with Bioware, though, is that mages as arcane warriors can wear all types of armor.

I'd like to see some battle mage get-ups. Not an arcane warrior nor squishy wizard either. Someone who's in the midst of battle kicking arse and taking names with AoE spells. That means they have to have enough armor to protect them without limiting their movement much. Think something like this:

I'd rather their defenses come from magics like that repulsion spell in Awakening, or just damage negation spells like shields, makes them feel more like mages and less like warriors with spells, although preferably in a way that doesn't lag my computer...

Edit: Relating that to mage outfits, I'd be happy with my mages just looking good, no need to be heavily armored.

Add leather to your list :P
The cloth and leather pieces were terrible. One would think Thedas had only one fashion designer because every mage wore variations of the same outfit(s).

I don't think the Templars care for fashion design

How about:

*not a 'fan' of Cygnar (Khador FTW!), or Haley (can't find a nice pic of Sorscha or the Coven of Garlghast or Alexia in short time), but I think the armor's ok...just 'omit', from your minds, any of the other 'elements' if you don't care for steampunk :P *

Lol, we have less than 20 screenshots of the entire game, no game-play footage, and very little concept art yet we are back to "this has to be true!" conclusion land. Wait, jeez. Origins DLC isn't even finished yet, be patient. The game is out in less than a year so we'll see plenty more soon. I'm sure Bioware are aware of the criticisms.

That is the type of attitude we need to stay away from. You my friend will be far too late if you wait any longer then this to ask for things in the game. its now or never. If you want something you need to be asking for it now.

Well I addressed this in my original reply.
I also find it very fun to share pictures of what each of us thinks is nice for the game ^_^

I'd want my Blood Mage to look like the Final Fantasy red mage.

TBH, I let out a sigh of relief when I saw the screenshot of Bethany's robes. It was like something clicked into place and I realized that Dragon Age is still Dragon Age (yeah?) despite all the changes.

On the other hand, I desperately hope for more robe designs. And hoods. :wizard: Because JFC were those mage hats fugly.

I think the trenchcoat design looked the best, but I doubt they will go that route this late into development. The robes just looked horrible on male characters, and especially the fur on the arms. If they put some of those cone helms, I would also like them to put the option to not show helmets. Even Guild Wars had this option, which I hardly used, though since all the armor looked so awesome. Anyways, they could even take a hint from Demon's Souls mages even that armor looked a lot better than Origins'.

Pft. If anything from WoW needs to be put in DA, it's the mage turbans.

Bethany, Hawke's sister, and a mage, her outfit in this picture doesn't look too bad.

It looks stupid. Naked boobs, unprotected neck. Every enemy archer will aim for the heart or throat. And if it's not meant to protect at all, why there's a chainmail? Too add weight/fatigue?

What are 90% of your posts anti-cleavage?  What did it ever do to you?

By your logic everyone should have every inch of their body full plated and packing steel otherwise they'll get shot in the head.

Perhaps you didn't notice but in DA:O even if you died  in combat you picked yourself off, brushed yourself off and started all over again once the battle ended.  Realism isn't exactly king here.

How could anyone be anti-cleavage?

Anyways, even Morrigan's outfit had showed off cleavage. Besides how many people are going to be aiming specifically for someone's neck in a battle?

Oww vary nice. I like how simple but awesome it was. I bet they could use something like that vary easy.
I liked the solid bright color red. With simple/sexy you can never go wrong.
Developers...... you should be taking notes.

Something this would be awesome, albeit a bit Arcane Warrior rather than flat out mage.
