WTF!!!!!!!!!!! So I'm stuck at Redcliffe, right at the "The Attack at nightfall" Quest. I Googled it and it seems a sh*t ton of other people are having the same problem, VERY CONVENIENTLY it autosaves 1 second right before everyone has the bug, Great effin job Bioware way to uphold your reputation as the glitchiest/buggiest game developing company, Thought by now you'd learn. ANYWAYS my last actual save was 5 hours back, I stupidly don't save quite as often as I should because I expect not to get bugfuc*ed when I pay $75 dollars for a game(collectors) Anyways me and alot of other people aren't gonna play til it gets patched, so hurry up and right your wrongs, especially for the 360 version.
Oh yeah haha forgot to mention the actual bug, was a lil ticked when I wrote the thread. It's the bug where one of the spawns gets bugged out and you have to kill him to continue to the next part...but can't. I searched the entire town and found no
stragglers....read posts about other people with the same problems and
half the time you can find the 1 single mob that's holding the quest
back from triggering, usually around the lake just standing there all
bugged out, but the other half of the time (the half I got) the spawn
gets really bugged like inside the wall of w/e and he can't be
found....so I guess i'm just gonna wait for an xbox patch......and play borderlands in the meantime lol

Have you tried running one last sweep of the town for zombies? I had to do that in order to move on. If there are no zombies in the town, run back up to the knights and see if there are still some stragglers up there.

Clearly you have never played Fallout 3 by the one and only Bethesda game studio, as they have the dubious honour in my book.

Any game on any platform can bug, especially one that was only released 4 days ago.

Take this as a lesson learned.

Save often for the plains and forrests of Ferelden are fraught with dangers and treacherous bugs!

I like how you didn't actually say what the bug is that's got you stuck.

nevermind that the tooltips while loading remind us to save frequently (especially on the PC)

Actually Obsidian would probably be the buggiest "big name" developer out there imo... Lionhead maybe.

BIoware and Bethesda both are actually both pretty decent on polish - but then again the king of Polish is Blizzard, but it takes 100 Years for them to release games cause they are insanely anal about the polish level.

I think Both Bioware and Bethesda strike a good balance of time invested vs. polish...sure it sucks to run into a bug but this si PC gaming, you better get used to it.

I guess its when the Undead keeps comming, they never end... right?

If thats the case, I got that bug aswell, but managed to survive.
First you stand on top of the hill among the knights. That part is easy, when the other militian wants help down the hill, thats where it was bugged for me. I stayed down there till all the NPC were dead. then I took controll of all 4 my Chars and runned up the hill again, with all the Undead behind me. And up there, the knights help killing them. Was easy. And I kept doing that till everything was gone. And then the quest was done, and everything was back to normal.

But if this isnt the problem you have, then ignore it. -hehe-

In the lower section, when the fight seemed to be over, there was one glitched zombie with pathfinding problems behind one of the buildings out of sight. You might have to hunt all over the town to find a straggler.

I like how people are blaming Bioware because they don't know how to save.

I have found several glitchy spawns during my 9 hours of play. An overabundance of zombies during the Redcliffe attacks. An endless spawn node of wolves outside Lothenar (I counted 17 wolves in total clumped together).

Also there are some random encounters that feel glitchy to me. For example I recently was attacked by 9 wolves. Due to the "overrun" mechanic and the "spawn in a 360 degree arc around the party mechanic" there was nothing I could do to defeat them; I did manage to aoe stun them once or twice but...

Heh,ain't that the truth Cephalik. One day, perhaps, people will realize that 'operator error' isn't a bug a developer can fix.

LOL its funny how people think its a bug because the undead keep coming and coming and are almost never ending.. umm.. it's a horde of undead.. what did you expect.. one or two waves of one hit kills and then on your merry way. Go play easy mode.. oh wait.. that was easy mode.

One time I played the Redcliffe attack and there were endless zombies; literally endless, not a horde, an endless amount.  The next time I played it there were considerably less zombies.  This inconsistency leads me to believe there may be some bugs with the encounter.  Of course I could be lying.

Hahaha, I love how you go on a rampage over "bugs" when all you've got is a terminal case of "the suck".

I didn't go on a rampage. I think you've mistaken me for the original poster. I was commiserating with him a little. That's a big word that means being nice. Being nice is a concept the big kids use sometimes.

Why are you not saving often?

Seriously, there are a ton of moments shortly after where you are now where you will open a door expecting nothing bad, and find two orange bosses, or 8 Blood Mages, or some other stupid combination you can't beat on your first try.

Or better yet, when you miss click something, and run out of stamina, and bam, 12 minutes of backtracking.

*king of polish* laugh... cry... "stop polishing and give me starcraft 2 damn u"

on topic: what is the actual bug that stops u? .. i noticed that most ppl who post bugs here, are ppl who didnt sweep places clear or forgot to loot/open quest related stuff.

after i killed all mobs i took soem time for the interaction screen started, and 1 reload i had a mob crouching to a wall on edge of the village... tro look around bit more.. or state ur bug thing a bit more specific.

I had this bug every time I played the scene and it always eventually worked out after I eventually found some stuck undead in a corner... sometimes that only triggers the next wave mind you, it does seem to take a bit long to defeat them all.

I thought most people was tying this to either Daikatana or for our forum user-groups, Obsidian Entertainment and Troika Games.

My recommendation is that you look in every crevice for a zombie and hope for the best.

While sweeping it's a good opportunity to make sure you loot everything. Kill the last zombie and you loose the loot as far as I have seen.
