But once a real relationship starts, he becomes unbelievably awkward. Maybe even tripping on his way to you. And surprisingly even moments where he's at a loss for words.
They have some kind of tragic past that they've buried that no one knows about until (high approval rating) they start to hint about it, but change the subject before a conversation about it can really start. If they do eventually reveal it, it'd be a very hard thing for them to talk about. Perhaps the player would even be able to go thought the romance without ever hearing the story.
I don't know, something like that.

Nerdy mage of either human, elven, or possibly Qunari bloodlines. I'll keep saying it until I get it (which may take a while).
Seconded. Of course, if they put the nerdy mage in, I'm going to hope he's available as a romance for female PCs also.

LOL! I'm fine with fade-to-black, although I would love sex scenes in DA2 if they aren't as stiff-looking as the ones in DA:O.
Sorry.
Had to be said.
ANYWAY, I'm happy with pretty much anything so long as it's well written. And I have faith that Bioware will write a great character, even if I don't like him.
Also, why is this thread m/m only? I want Lesbian!Hawke too, dammit!

No one has a clue, except the developers.

The ancient Greeks had a fierce warrior culture that didn't shy away from homosexuality. Their equivalent of the bible was all about warrior heroes, not gentle prophets. They worshipped the perfect warrior form so much that it became a part of their sexuality. It reached its peak with the elite Theban Sacred Band, who were an unbeatable hoplite phalanx comprised purely of 150 pairs of gay lovers. These guys swore oaths to defend their lover to the death, over the tomb of Iolaos (who was the mythical gay lover of Hercules). And it worked, they beat the Spartans every time they went up against them, and were only finally defeated after a cavalry charge led by history's most famous bisexual warrior, Alexander the Great.
Personally I think that sort of shield-brother/warrior character would be a great s/s romance option, and one that's rooted deeply in western historical culture.

I'd much rather have what Universitas mentioned before. That sounds more worth the effort.

I, for one, am not interested in having a Qunari LI. It's mainly because in my own little word, Hawke won't be the 6 foot something stereotype of a warrior (even if he's going to be a mage) and then combined with an insanely tall Qunari.. just.. no. The Qunari are interesting, sure, but I wouldn't want one as an LI.

Personally I'd like me a gruff warrior type that's a bit of a hard nut to crack, but quite soft inside if you can get to open up. And he should give me gift(s) as well:D. After all, I'm giving npc's stuff all the time, a little token of affection (practical though) would be nice. I wanted to wear Zev's earring (symbolically) but couldnt equp it.

Given Dragon Age's setting there's a great s/s character model to use that moves away from lousy stereotypes. I mentioned this briefly on the s/s romance thread on the ME forums, but it's worth repeating here, and it's basically the concept of the 'shield brother.'

1. this sounds like the most ****** erotic thing ever and if it makes it ingame it will be going too far
2.There's no real evidence alexander the great was bisexual, just speculation. (there's speculation that hitler was gay also)
Side note: Greeks also embraced Relationships between young boys and men for artistic purposes, Their culture was disgusting

I'm sorry, but it almost sounds as if you're trying to say that a player in an s/s romance has no right to have a dedicated partner or relationship. I bolded one part in shootist70's post and you know what I get reminded of by reading it? Alistair. Alistair at one point swears that if he had the opportunity to save the Warden by taking a hit, he would gladly do so. Some, if not most people, feel empowered when they're alongside their partner. Please, tell me why an optional romance would be taboo for including that when it's already been incorporated before. I'm itching to know.Shadow_broker wrote...

People aren't as open to S/S romance as normal romance, If i saw this in my game i would probaly not finish it, Or start over. I'm not stating it's fair i'm stating i have a problem with it as a straight gamer and would prefer if they kept gay romances abit more toned down till it's more socially accepted in the modern worldexoproto wrote...

1) Dude, it's 2010. You don't like two dudes kissing, suck it the **** up.
2) Yes he was. Would you call classifying Henry V as straight just speculation?
3)So was and is every other culture on the planet. It doesn't mean they didn't have some redeeming qualities and it doesn't dismiss the overall point.

Anyways, I also agree with a gruff warrior type. I know I don't want a mage LI, that's for sure. For some reason it just sounds a little.. cliche maybe? The quiet mage always turns out to be the one, you know? Elven or not, I think I'll always prefer the gruff warrior to the softspoken mage. Different people have different tastes though.
