You need to read your Greek history some more.
History lesson for you: the Spartans (the uber-men featured in 300 and GREEKS) encouraged homosexuality between young soldiers and their older mentors. This close relationship continued until men were married, and it was common practice for men to cut their wives hair, make them wear male clothes and use other techniques to disguise their femininity until they got used to the woman parts. Extra marital affairs between men were only frowned upon because the ultimate service to the State was to produce children and two men cannot do so..

People aren't as open to S/S romance as normal romance, If i saw this in my game i would probaly not finish it, Or start over. I'm not stating it's fair i'm stating i have a problem with it as a straight gamer and would prefer if they kept gay romances abit more toned down till it's more socially accepted in the modern world
It depends on what kind of people you're talking about. Other parts of the world are far more tolerant than America, if that's what you're trying to insinuate. Now here's the question: If the romance was there but you never saw it because you, as the player, never triggered it, would you just stop playing simply because it's there?
If your answer if no, then that's understandable because some people feel uncomfortable in such situations. No harm done.
If your answer is yes, then.. I'm done here.
No is my answer
But seeing as zevran hitting on me in orignal dragon age happend on all 3 of my playthroughs unless i was a complete ass to him i expect the next gay romance to come up as well
Btw i do live in America but to the best of my knowledge that's where the majiorty of the gaming community lies. along with a few asian countries which i doubt is much more accepting of gay culture than us
Obviously you know very little of Japan. And by 'us' I hope you're not referring to me.
Im referring to americans in general
I do not know much of japan or asian culture in general for that matter, But i'm pretty sure the largest asian country China is very against Homosexual romance (correct me if i'm wrong)

I completely understand. I think it's just the idea that sounds a little.. "eh." for me. I mean, if they incorporate it, then so be it! I'll probably try it out since I never have before! I just hope they make it a bit more tasteful than your average shy mage who makes you want to pinch his or her cheeks.

In this Modern age many cultures have done both great and horryfying things in retrospect and to ignore them is silly IMO
Early america for example fully embraced slavery which i find horrid as an african american but today has become a pinnicale of equal rights and freedoms. but that dosen't make up for the wrongs they did

1)Here's a straw. Guess what I'm about to say.
2)No real evidence to say Henry V was straight either. Out of curiosity what would you consider evidence for someone's sexuality?
3)No you were just trying to paint homosexuality as pedophilic in nature. Totally different. Right.
1.most likley an insult to my person and not related to arguement
2. We have strong evidence to support alex was married to 2 women, i consider that sufficent to a person nature of sexuality
3. You're going too far by saying that, I in no way meant to imply Homosexuals were related to pedophiles in anyway, I was pointing out the flaws of greek culture nothing more
It was a side note not related to my other two arguements in otherwords
2)Marriage is often political. A conquering king coming into foreign lands had to win over the people somehow and establish a legitmate line. Attraction isn't high on the list of what the concubine must have. She's there for an heir.
Alexander's bosom buddy on the other hand...
3)Yeah, sure, whatever. You said it and the insinuation is as clear cut as they come.

Anyway, it is canon that Thedas has gay people in it, and the people developing the setting haven't ignored them, either. If you want to keep playing DA games, you'll have to deal with this fact.

I needed him for gameplay purposes and to kill a intresting character purley due to his orientation is silly to me although i did not like his pushy Gay personality i found his Antivan crow stories intresting
I also i'm fine with the fact that thedas has gays in it, i just think some things can go too far and felt in a discusion thread i should let my voice be heard

Because pedophiles only existed in ancient Greece. Are you ready to condemn every society as disgusting, then? Or just the gay friendly ones? Because if you want to talk pedophilia, look at the Catholic church.

Pushy gay personality?
...There's such thing as a gay personality? Why not just say he was a pushy flirt? Because he flirts with you regardless of your PCs sex and, ergo, saying he had a pushy 'gay' personality becomes null. He even says he prefers women.

I think we all know that if there ever was a character like that, fan fiction would quickly corrupt them!
Of course, I don't want another Carth... Maker, no. It wouldn't be worth the effort.
