Sorry Guys didn't have time to read the whole 12 pages....(hope this isnt a repeat) I always took it as just what he said... "she needs a better man than him" Remember Jacob is paragon... she is not, he was trying to .... save her soul i guess.... but he could't get her to turn from the dark side... so he gave up. may not be right, but its the way i always took it.

That's definitely an interesting interpretation.

Sorry, I had to ask. I'll drop it. I'll hush up now. :?

The amusing part being that there is an actual answer to that question.

But some things were not meant for mortal man to know.

Her explaining Asari biology didn't bother me. Running a background check on me behind my back raised the red flags. Everyone else asks about your background, but Liara she's digging into your personal files. Makes me wish they had renegade interrupts in ME1.

I would rather not use biology and ME in a sentence toghether. ME1 was bad enough, but ME2 has gone well into "You Fail Biology Forever" as a trope. Just a pet peeve.

That being said, the thing that makes me so uncomfortable about the conversation is how it's asari totally aren't intergalatic space sex kittens, but then Liara starts acting like a creepy sex kitten, and you've got the consort and pretty much every stripper in the galaxy as an asari.

If I started a new job and opened with "Hey, did you know that in my culture, sleeping with a subordinate is not just accepted, but encouraged?" it would rase a few eyebrows.

Yeah I agree the Miranda scene makes no sense outside of being fan service. It goes completely against they way her character is presented in the game otherwise. I know Miranda's personality rubs some people the wrong way but I liked her cold business like attitude and professional dedication. She was results oriented that it drove poor Gorim...erm...Wilson crazy. I wonder what EDI thought.

I thought Miranda was perfectly reasonable most of the time, aside from being a Cerberus groupie. At first I just thought she was a human supremacist, but once you see her damage via her whole genetic alternation thing, her character makes a lot more sense.

The top hat I can let go. The pudding I can't. If we're in an ice cream parlour closet, shouldn't it be ice cream?

Regarding the question in the OP, I found the line out of place even in my M!Shep playthroughs. I can understand Jacob commenting on their past relationship in that moment, but that specific wording sounds strange and can have a lot of different interpretations. If they're changed "adjective" to "different" or even "more patient", Jacob's meaning would have been a lot easier to understand.

As a man, I'm willing to put up with a significant level of crazy in order to get what I want from a woman. But pudding in an ice cream parlour? A place where you can easily acquire such items as whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and maraschino cherries? Do what you want with the top hat but I think the pudding deserves an explanation. On second thought, for some reason a barber shop quartet getup seems more fitting in an ice cream parlour than the top hat.

Can't say it was to me personally either, but this is the internet - expect the worst at all times.

Yeah, whether I agreed with her or not, I could always see the rationale behind her decisions. Well except of the engine room of course. Miranda usually seems to set emotions aside to go for the most logical decision. That's why I enjoyed her loyalty mission so much. It's the first time your really see her let her emotions cloud her judgment.

Am I really having have a pudding vs ice cream debate? Look, no one can deny the pudding.

@ Darc - I totally agree. My biggest pet peeve is there's no dialogue in Miranda's romance scene. That was a big disappointment for me.

I'm not so sure the engine room was a case of Miranda's emotions overriding her judgment. It wasn't a spur of the moment decision to bang Shepard in the engine room - she obviously planned it. We don't know what her reasoning was, but knowing the kind of character she is, she obviously chose that location for a specific reason. Whether it's to avoid bugs, avoid upsetting their professional boundaries or the power balance of their relationship (I don't like this one but I've heard it argued), or just because Miranda gets a thrill out of sex in unconventional places, the engine room incident is yet more evidence of Miranda's tendency to plan for everything.

I'm not arguing that ice cream beats pudding (that's got to be the most delicious bowl of pudding I've ever seen in my life). I'm arguing the logic of having pudding in an ice cream parlour. My mind just can't wrap itself around that kind of thinking .

I don't know if they put the same writing team on it that worked on Jacob's love scene with Femshep, silence may have been golden. BTW I won't be able to eat for about 4 and half hours. Please no pictures of pudding. I'm hungry enough as is. :(

Yeah it's not like a crew member saw you with Miranda and commented on it..oh wait Kasumi did <_<

That doesn't me she saw much of anything.  She may have simply that noticed Shep headed down there right after Miranda did, and done the dead simple math.  If she can leave her room to go full on voyeur, she can leave her room to do that too.

Kasumi doesn't seem the type to guess.

Well, in part, I think that's because some of us are a little taken aback by the notion that the woman is perfectly within her rights to demand the... affections of the man however, whenever, and wherever the fancy strikes her, and his objections are not valid.  Which is how I read your post.

"Seem"? Um, that's not really evidence.  She doesn't seem to ever leave her room either.  Look, it's simple: we have no idea how she knows what she knows or what exactly she did or did not see.  Her comment is worthless when it comes to drawing any sort of conclusion about the "Engine Room Incident".

If the post scares you, don't read it.

... Wait, what? "Demand the affections of the man"? Pfft. I don't recall ever having to demand any such thing.

I agree with Didymos in that I don't think Kasumi's line really meant much. BioWare was just sticking in a comment about every romance scene. You're not really supposed to ask, "How did she know that??" And the fact that she asks exactly how genetically modified Miranda is leads me to believe she didn't see everything and wasn't exactly standing there watching.

I can just imagine it: Kasumi, cloaked and hidden in the corner, watching every Tali-insulting second and then, at the moment of climax, she shouts "Gift for you!"

I can't see that ending well for Kasumi.

Kasumi: "Gift for you!"

Miranda: *throws a singularity in Kasumi's face*

It might not look much, but caramel pudding beats ice cream... ask Leliana... :kissing:

I don't think it was a case of demanding a man perform regardless of his desires, more a case of a woman excercising her right to be as equally assertive as a man and not be afraid of requesting something involving a top hat and pudding.

Threesomes are kinda like monkey butlers. Awesome in theory, less awesome in practice. I realize Shepard may have gotten some upgrades, but he still only has one set of everything to deal with Miranda and Kasumi's combined two sets of everything. The numbers don't work so well.
