Still a beautiful, immersive game, but yeah. Just my thoughts.

its not that they are looking for porn, they just think that the whole undies thing was really lame. and yes, were all adults here, or atleast most of us, and really if they wanted porn, they could easily just go to the good ol interweb like you said and get it, but thats not what they are looking for. i dont think they are asking for a penetration scene, or raunchy 70s style bow chicka bow wow scenes. i feel like, if you can be okay with seeing someone head cut off, or body parts strewn about the floor, that is covered with insanely exxagerated amounts of blood, then having a sex scene that showed a little TnA wouldnt be bad at all. honostly, i fealt akward when i saw the "sex scene" in the game. and i never did it again. lol. bioware could have simply avoided showing you the naughty bits, but atleast not put them in their skivies while they "grease up the bronto" as oghren says. lol

A nude option should be included much like most games have a gore option. Its not about pornography or masturbation material its about immersion and platform maturity.



RPGs are generally built on the player being immersed in whats going on. Now to sustain that immersion things must be believable or have some logic to them even when using a degree of disbelief. This is a fantasy game so I'm going to accept the possibility of fantastical creature but I'm not really going to believe that two fully grown adults will strip down into their underwear and dry hump each other. It lacks logic and believability and when it happens you lose the immersion.



Now the game over here in the UK is rated 18. It is a purely adult game but sex is regarded as a taboo subject and is fit only for deviants and perverts so it shows a lack of artisitic maturity for games as an accepted media outlet. The reaction to sex in games also shows his lack of maturity and its not just the ones asking for the nude mod. Anyone who makes a derogatory comment about anybody wishing to have nudity in a game is lacking their own maturity. Games are a media like every other and are perfectally capable of handling adult themes in a mature way but it seems you can write about it, film it, put in braille but not code it.



I for one want the option of nudity in games not for sexual pleasure but so I can be treated as mature adult capable of differentiating between real-life and fantasy and not some creepy pervert who is outcast from society.

i fealt it was good to actually respond to the original post, instead of trying to get on a high horse and talk down to someone like the first half of the posters here did lol.

oh and a side note, there is a post somewhere on here, where they show how bioware appearantly did make morrigans model "topless" in the game so to speak. you pretty much scroll in, or zoom in, on her, and you know how sometimes the camera will go through a person, if you go through just her top, they went through the trouble of giving her fully designed, colored, and rather well shaped bossoms.

Personally I don't need a nude mod, but I will gladly use it once a good one will be created, as I have already done in Morrowind and Oblivion. And if any of you compared the vanilla bodies delivered with those games to the perfect new ones created by the community, that just adds to the overall atmosphere of the game, at least to me.

To be honest I'm surprised they didn't do the sex scenes like they did with Mass Effect... then again I remember all the news media those scenes brought up. Yeah DA:O sex scenes were a bit strange but I didn't think it was such a big deal... Then again I am posting...

I honestly think, that there won't be any official nude patch to make the sex scenes 'more realistic'. One reason might be, to make them more realistic, they'd have to show boners in some scenes and that would be considered pornographic, at least where I live, so don't expect that anytime soon. On the other hand, a friend recently told me, that in GTA 4 you see everything (!) in the sex scenes and it wasn't banned here, so maybe there will be something, but I don't think so.



Another issue might be, that it is hard to model a 'good looking' penis at all. I've seen nude mods for Oblivion, which provided full nudity for both genders, but the male testicles somehow looked a bit 'unnatural' and too 'artificial'. Maybe I've only seen a bad example though.

because here in the us people have a very skewed view of things lol. i look at it like this, wich are you more likely to see in the real world, a few people without clothes now and then, or someone being decapitated and run through? i mean, if you have a very good chance of seeing it on the beach, i dont know why its such a big "no no" to put into media, especially games. silly parents who dont think straight are worried that their kids will see something naughty in a video game, simple solution, dont by games that are not age appropriate for your kids just to shut them up, like so many do. i mean, a teenager, or child, is much more likely to see a dirty movie on hbo, yet you dont see a news bulletin everytime an episode of "real sex" comes on.
silly people have silly solutions to silly problems.
id rather my future children see the opposite sex in all their natural glory than see someone get ripped in two by a giant ogre type thing. wich is more likely to emotionally scar them and give them nightmares? (ill give you a hint, its not the one with chesticles)

I really don't think they're going to provide an official nude patch, that would just be inviting controversy. They had plenty of that with Mass Effect, and that was without showing anything more provocative than a bare ****; people seem to get far more upset about nipples.



That said, they did provide a toolkit, and there will be mods, so be patient. I can virtually guarantee that there will be plenty of enhancements of all sorts, including sexy clothes and nudity. Look at NWN, NWN2, Fallout 3, Oblivion -- hell, even BG, and BG wasn't even meant to be modded. Great RPGs inspire this sort of thing.

For god's sake. Modders will do it soon enough. We've all done tihs discussion before. Some immature folks say "OMFG Pervs!" then some Immature folks say "Lol boobs!" then some European person says "Stupid US hates on nudity" and then some American says "Yeah, we're stupid."

There are immature people on both sides.



There ARE some who will use it to pleasure themselves. They will range from teenager to adult. In all reality, will it be a GREAT number of people using the Nude Mod? Yup.



Does that mean everyone will be doing it? Nope.



And most importantly, does that mean either group should be hated on?



Different strokes, folks. They like what they like, you like what you like. Stop getting on them for what they like, and start doing whatever it is you enjoy.



As someone who won't use such a mod, I just have to call for a mature response to something like this. Don't act like children.



And, to re-iterate, stop asking this question. Wait. When people can get models in, I'm sure you'll see professional quality nudity. It brings it no closer by quacking for it every day. That applies to most things.

That's why if such a mod / patch would be released I say: give people a choice, a check box in options screen is enough... Like Modern Warfare 2 has with the extreme violent "airfield"scene (truth be told In Holland they didn't like the scene, but they couldn't prohibit it, not with current laws... and if they would have gone through trying to ban it they would have run into the fact people are given a choice)



In europe "human"sex is accepted (incl. elves, dwarfs etc.) We're more likely to trip over amount of violence. Personaly I dont give a f*ck.



As long as people have a choice everybody should be happy, side note: Don't whine that GTA and DA:O aren't playable by kids when the rating clearly says it isn't the step from 18+ (Gore) and Mature (Sex) is a useless/worthless rating difference. (BTW looking at Sims 1 - 3 it's puzzling sex suddenly becomes 7+ just because of calling it "woohoo" and some steam which hides the sims a 7yo surely knows what those 2 are doing

I completely agree with Sixteen Miles *on page 1* except for one tiny detail... I would like for a developer nude patch, but with parental controls in the options section that can be password protected. I would be also for fine re-skinning of the "underwear" models with full frontal nudity if they're well done.

No offense but it's an M rated game. Parental control shouldn't be involved at all. An option that could be checked like gore would be the best.

You've got many, many things in DA that are not suitable for kids and it would be bad parenting to allow a kid to play that game.

I think that it is utterly silly for Morrigan to put on a bra to make love when she doesn't wear any on a regular basis. It's even worse when you consider what's already in the game... Let's consider the gore, the bisexuality (the game takes a brave stand on that issue) and last but not least the Pearl, its inserting tools, cross dressing male prostitutes and way too friendly nugs.

So Morrigan's nipples have to be covered because that would be pornographic? There would be nothing pornographic about Morrigan being topless. It's not about getting sexually aroused by pixels or playing a sex game but about breaking immersion in an M rated CRPG.

And if you think that would be pornographic I wonder why you're not shocked by her panties in the cutscene where she makes her offer near the end of the game. Someone mentioned a ****** and it's definitely visible at that point (provided you don't focus too much on the bra that looks like it's coming from One Million Years BC).

Agree, and .. agree. Being a female myself too, since the game is rated +18 I don't see why it's bad to show some nudity.. and yes, i think it DOES look more realistic, the sex scenes and all if they were naked, instead of these underwear.. I'm not eager to see some penis and ******, im only eager to see some realistic erotic scenes since they are included in the game. And i loved the fact that there were romances and love in the game..  I guess there wont be an official patch, however. Most likely an unofficial addon by some user. Like in Oblivion.. i was an assassin, killing people, stripping them off their clothes and placing them in awkward positions... it kinda brings the serial killer from within, haha!

Agree, and .. agree.
