Why have the Qunari been demonized?

Looking at the trailer and at interviews from DA devs, I have one question:  why have the Qunari been demonized?  Why exactly did the Qunari look need to be 'updated' to include giant horns?

Do you believe DA's fanbase is too simplistic to accept an enemy who's evil is a bit ambigious, and thus needs to fight an enemy who, like the darkspawn, is evil through and through?  Do you believe we the fans are ourselves so simplistic that we need this clear and cookie-cutter evil to be representated graphically by the addition of giant horns?

This whole thing is a bit insulting, specially to someone who absolutely loved the Sten character and was dying to learn more about the Qunari.

I are very disappoint.

They aren't demonized. They have horns.

Last I checked, horns didn't make you evil.

Sten also doesn't have horns, not all Qunari do.

All Quanari don't have horns, some do and some have large ones. Devs said they wanted the races to look more diverse, and not just look like tall, short, and pointy eared humans. All the races got new make overs, not just the Qunari.

I remember someone else making a thread like this saying that the horns made them look like demons.

The qunaris intentions are well known enough.

They are not evil.

The chantry like to portray them as such.

Sten is a special kind of qunari.

Well of course, cows aren't evil. Also, not all dragons are evil.
Peter Molyneux wouldn't agree with you, though.

We'll see. Don't be surprised when every qunari you fight has horns. You severely overestimate the confidence Bioware has in your intelligence.

He also believes eating pie and meats makes you corrupt while eating tofu makes you pure. I wouldn't place much faith in that man.

This thread started under a bridge.

I am confident that Bioware understands its players.

I doubt every qunari has horns.

Also having horns is normal for qunari.

Sten was special.

I beg to differ, sir!

Anyway, I don't the the horns were added to make the Qunari look evil, I think they were added to make the Qunari look more imposing.

Also isn't there this whole thing where the story teller could have exaggerated their appearance? I'm just gona go with that.

Personally, I think Qunari look cooler with the horns. Heck, I even wish I could play as one.

The qunari weren't 'generic fantasy' enough in DAO.

I don't know what you're talking about, the Triceratops is the ultimate defender of justice and good in the universe.

I just think they tacked on those horns at the last minute. I have no recollection of them ever saying Quinari have horns in any of the codexes. I even remember reading the one about the Quinari, which just stated that they are bronze skinned giants.

If anything, the Quinari are already somewhat evil. I mean they are always at war, which doesn't ring "good people" to me at least. Even Sten says that they will attack Ferelden, and they don't seem to have any ties with Ferelden, so that is definitely out of the blue.

Says you, I would be scared to face them in fights, and then that whole Bloody Antivan crow mission in which you have to kill several of them.

They were Bald.Posted Image

I thought the qunari looked very imposing and powerful in the Destiny trailer, not evil per se.

Which made Hawke beating him all the more awesome of course :D

Might I also add that Zevran comments that there are qunari he finds attractive and has been with back in Antiva... I'm just wondering how the horns factor into it all XP

It's exotic, probably adding to the whole attractive thing.
