Might I also add that Zevran comments that there are qunari he finds attractive and has been with back in Antiva... I'm just wondering how the horns factor into it all XP

Well of course, cows aren't evil.

I beg to differ, sir!

W...What?
Since when cows are evil?

Sure, the cows act all innocent, but they're secretly plotting to destroy the Earth by releasing methane and thus contributing to Global Warming! :bandit:

I just think they tacked on those horns at the last minute. I have no recollection of them ever saying Quinari have horns in any of the codexes. I even remember reading the one about the Quinari, which just stated that they are bronze skinned giants.

If anything, the Quinari are already somewhat evil. I mean they are always at war, which doesn't ring "good people" to me at least. Even Sten says that they will attack Ferelden, and they don't seem to have any ties with Ferelden, so that is definitely out of the blue.

In addition, none of the Qunari encountered ingame had horns. Sten's buddies (in the Fade), all the Qunari mercenaries (Kadan Fe, etc), and Armaas (Silverite mines).

Hmm, I never saw the Qunari as evil. No more than, say, the Chantry. They wish to spread the Qun, and from what I understand of the Qun it seems like no one person is any more important than the other. I think Sten once talked about an Antivan assassin fishing for information about the land...

Sten: She was a Crow, as you were. Sent to assassinate the kithshoks, leaders of the army of Seheron, for the Tevinter Imperium. We knew this, and pitied her.

Zevran: I'm surprised you did not simply slay her.

Sten: There was no need. Her questions were meant to show her the way through the jungle towards our fortifications. And so one day, she snuck into the jungle to find her target. We found the pieces of her body in a tree, where the spotted cats kept them for later. We had never told her that our kithshoks were the ones who negotiated all the trades at the port.

Zevran: Then she was a fool. That's not very sympathetic, I'm afraid.

Sten: It was her ignorance we pitied, not her mistake. She believe we hoarded things we cared for as her own people do. We were sorry for her, that she thought only some people were important.

That hardly seems evil to me.

The qunari aren't invading other nations because they're evil, they're doing it because they think they have to 'enlighten' the other races by spreading the Qun. Sort of like the Conquistadors and the Jesuit missionaries trying to convert the indigenous American peoples to Catholicism during the Age of Exploration.

Well, yes, but (arguably, at least) that's evil.

Oh, sure, I agree. I just mean that I don't think their intentions are evil. They're not sitting up there in Par Vollen going, "Look upon us and despair, for we will conquer you all! Mwahahaha! Ours is an evil laugh!"

Do not be fooled! Cheese is the bait the cows use on the mousetrap that will spell our doom! Except the mousetrap is made out of cow-farts!

Trailer Qunari's not evil, his wife is just really unfaithful (really really, I mean those are some big horns).

Anyways Qunaris with horns look awesome and the whiners just like to whine.

Qunari don't marry, though. He should be celebrating rather than be angry.

Looking at the trailer and at interviews from DA devs, I have one question:  why have the Qunari been demonized?  Why exactly did the Qunari look need to be 'updated' to include giant horns?

Do you believe DA's fanbase is too simplistic to accept an enemy who's evil is a bit ambigious, and thus needs to fight an enemy who, like the darkspawn, is evil through and through?  Do you believe we the fans are ourselves so simplistic that we need this clear and cookie-cutter evil to be representated graphically by the addition of giant horns?

This whole thing is a bit insulting, specially to someone who absolutely loved the Sten character and was dying to learn more about the Qunari.

I are very disappoint.

Characters are allowed to progress and it happens all the time. Klingons used to look human before they morphed into ridge heads.

"Not all qunari have horns"

No, but they also said that it is very rare for a qunari to not have horns and those born without it are seen as special, akin to be born for some greater purpose.

So 1 in a 1000 qunari does not have horns.
